I am sure gaga wont hit #1 for 8 weeks because most fans will buy it its first 3 weeks out. The most I can see it is 6-7 weeks. Gaga is too much of an album's artist to have #1 for 8-10 weeks lol

Well, if the single will be really good, it can be - the GP would buy it. Look at TEOG.

I always wondered: what's better - to have a #1 hit for 10 weeks that sells 5mil copies in let's say 6 months or to have a #1 for 5 weeks that sells 5 mil copies in 3 months?

Longevity is important, but selling crazy is also important - this would mean people are crazy for your staff.

I'd go the 2nd option. Ya'll?

That's an interesting point. It means, as long as the singles of other artists are selling low, you can get a #1 for many weeks if you sell at a consistent but slightly higher rate. The song has to really be a jam, and the marketing must be constant and effective.

i say the first because longevity will help album sales in the long run and can get a better place on billboard awards at the end of the year haha

Bieber flatlining at #5. So is Nicki at #50.

I've been wondering: why did No Doubt sink while Pink did somewhat OK?

On that note, Pink dark red at #10 and No Doubt dark green at #78.

Bad Romance never hit number 1 but its longetivity make it sale more than 5.4 million copies right ?

I'm not sure if those are the exact sales, but I think it's because the song is very catchy, but quite above quick consumption.

Greece (39)

Songs:

59. Bad Romance

65. Alejandro

83. Poker Face

116. Just Dance

171. Telephone

197. Born This Way

235. Paparazzi

391. Judas

Albums:

99. The Fame Monster

166. The Fame

275. Born This Way

Greece, I love you!

BB Hot 100 calculations for NEXT week based on 3 days of itunes bars, current airplay and a streaming estimate7

#position, sales (000's) + airplay (A.I. millions) + streaming (20Ks) = points*, artist, song, (change on Hot 100)

#1 169 + 151 + 42 = 271 Carly Rae Jepsen CMM (=)

#2 140 + 159 + 29 = 246 Katy Perry WA (=)

#3 100 + 171 + 38 = 239 Maroon 5 Payphone ft. Khalifa (=)

#4 227 + 69 + 32 = 233 Flo Rida Whistle (=)

#5 96 + 149 + 42 = 223 Ellie Goulding Lights (=)

#6 78 + 137 + 36 = 196 Gotye STIUTK ft Kimbra (=)

#7 52 + 151 + 18 = 172 Rihanna WHYB (=)

#8 246 + 7 + - = 163 Phillip Phillips Home

#9 97 + 90 + 27 = 159 David Guetta + Sia Titanium (-1)

#10 147 + 38 + 28 = 152 Fun. SN (+1)

#11 61 + 115 + 17 = 148 Usher Scream (-2)

#12 115 + 79 + 5 = 142 P!nk BM1LK (-2)

#13 126 + 48 + 16 = 135 Cher Lloyd WUB (-1)

#14 116 + 46 + 14 = 125 Owl City + Carly Rae Jepsen GT (-1)

#15 69 + 63 + 30 = 125 Kanye West Mercy (-1)

#16 121 + 34 + 14 = 118 Justin Bieber ALAYLM (+12)

#17 43 + 71 + 34 = 118 Fun. WAY ft. Monae (-2)

#18 57 + 93 + 5 = 116 Calvin Harris Let's Go (-1)

#19 46 + 77 + 24 = 115 One Direction WMYB (-3)

#20 58 + 79 + 14 = 115 Demi Lovato GYHAB (-2)

#21 74 + 59 + 18 = 112 Neon Trees ET (-2)

#22 48 + 63 + 21 = 102 Nicki Minaj Starships (-2)

#23 87 + 45 + 5 = 97 Little Big Town Pontoon (-1)

#24 38 + 61 + 22 = 95 Flo Rida WO ft Sia (-3)

#25 29 + 63 + 20 = 89 The Wanted GYC (-1)

*points = 64% x sales/K + 80% x airplay (A.I. millions) + 5% x on demand streaming/K

Largely reflecting current Hot 100 at the moment, but Whistle is only 6pts behind Payphone and 13pts behind Wide Awake.

CMM still 25 pts ahead so could retain #1 for a 9th week. Good rise for Bieber.

Approx weekly sales for Gaga: PF 5.9K, TEOG 5.0K, JD 4.7K, BTW 4.5K, BR 4.5K, Y+I 4.

Robotboy

a good lesson is to release a video on vevo AFTER another popular artist and not a day before. like nicki who lost all her banners to justin after less than 24 hours :hehe:

Remember that you are unique. Like everyone else.

GaGa is on #5 Social 50 Music Chart(last week #13). :omfgaga:

Katy Perry is on #6 :kisses:

*points = 64% x sales/K + 80% x airplay (A.I. millions) + 5% x on demand streaming/K

Does it mean 'Call Me Maybe' have 248 points?

Cuz: 179*64% + 109*80% + 915*5% =~ 248.

EVERYONE on Twitter is going crazy over Judas being certified Platinum but when I go on the RIAA website, I find absolutely nothing about it being certified in anyway?

I know twitter isn't reliable but I still want to know what started this rumor...

Magoo, when will WHYB drop out of the Top 10? Also, Will WA pose any threat?
