Wide Awake falling steadily on iTunes    Die Katy Die!

If only radio would follow suit, it's still getting great updates.

59. Settle Down - No Doubt

July 28, 2012 11:22 AM

Settle Down by No Doubt from the album Settle Down - Single

:noparty:

What is going on? Settle Down might not be the song of the year for me, but it's definitely catchy enough to be higher than this.

Is it getting radio traction? Sometimes I think Interscope has no influence on radio people, except for how they did with CMM.

Payphone is starting to die fasert on radio and Whistle is gaining slowly, so for the next week or two it will be Carly vs Katy.

It would greatly benefit Gaga if Whistle becomes #1.

She won't have to deal with CMM getting another week (making the number of weeks she has to beat at eight), and Katy is still cockblocked from a #1.

You would have LOVED my high school days. Britney was ginormous... I remember all the guys in my school thought she was so hot. Always the debate of who was hotter... Britney, Xtina, or Jessica.

Xtina had the best chart success, Britney selling her albums, and Jessica had good success with her first album. All their videos were played on MTV's TRL a lot.

Ahhh... back in the days when MTV had a healthy combo of music and reality television. Your high school days sound like they were just an inch away from mine. During my time in high school, the music was ALL about Britney, Justin (Timberlake), JLO, Xtina, and Eminem.

Pop girl power would benefit her more than Flo Rida.

IMO, that was the beginning of the end for MTV, lol. Nobody took the network seriously after that.

For me the best MTV era was in the mid-90s, from when Nirvana began to around the time of electro-industrial, like Garbage and the Smashing Pumpkins.

Back then MTV had Pop ART, like Aeon Flux and Beavis & Butthead. And great programming too, none of the Simple Life and Jersey Shore that they started afterwards. ;)

Well, I hope so! Seriously.

I hope you've got this backed up and you're not just rebutting it.

When I was at highschool the most talked popstar was Rihanna, specially because her career started when I just started HS, so I lived all her eras from MOTS to Loud. Later it was all about Gaga, her peak being from Bad Romance to Alejandro; a singer from my country even made his own version of Ale. It was so terrible. In spanish the chorus went like: "He was so gay, he was so gay, Alejandro". :smh:

OT,

Whistle is probably going to be #1 before WA?

And Titanium #8 on Billboard, still? I have like more than a year listening to that song.. Is it a later hit in the US?

I hear it a lot on radio now. And it is kind of addictive and very different from everything else on radio. Maybe it is going to take a minute for people to adjust to a new sound.

I hope so. I really want their comeback to be hugely successful! I've missed them.

I agree.

And I just realized No Doubt and Gaga are on the same label. :flop:
