Economy 52,844 Posted March 15, 2018 Share Posted March 15, 2018 https://www.bnn.ca/trump-says-he-made-up-facts-about-trade-deficit-in-meeting-with-trudeau-1.1027723 This has got to be literally one of the messiest things I ever read and the fact that he admits it So Trump keeps insisting to his base that Canada is one of the culprits on Americas trade deficit when other officials keep saying it's wrong and Canada is actually one of the few Countries in the world that the US sells more to than it buys on overall trade including everything The issue is Trump kept ignoring part of the trade numbers in services and was only looking at manufactured goods and energy (in which Canada does sell more to the US than the US sells to Canada) You can read the full article for more deets but here's one of his quotes about his meeting with Trudeau: Trump said on the recording that after Trudeau told him the U.S. does not have a trade deficit with Canada, he replied, "Wrong, Justin, you do," then added, "I didn't even know ... I had no idea."... The president said he then "sent one of our guys out" to check the prime minister's claim. "Well, sir, you're actually right," Trump says in the recording. "We have no deficit..." I still cringe at peoplekind Not only was it unnecessary to interrupt the woman and clearly he was trying way too hard with his image on inclusivity... I know what he was substituting I meant that he should of used humankind over peoplekind Also I think it's a bit extra to be bothered by mankind anyway. Words can have different meanings. In the case of mankind they are not specifically talking about males its a way of saying humans I think it's just people being social justice warriors tbh That being said humankind works just fine and if people are gonna be bothered by mankind it's like whatever.
