The internal trade War in Western Canada has picked up another level with the Province of Alberta Now Threating to cut off British Columbia's Oil Supply in the hopes Gasoline prices will spike and pressure on their Economy and Government to stand down

 

Alberta had already banned BC wines and cancelled Electrical trade with the Other Province. The wine ban has since been temporarily lifted awaiting a Court Order

 

Alberta has warned the Federal Government already that if it does not do anything to stop BC from "illegaly" Interfering with their National Project With Oil Sands Shipment ban that it will take further action to pressure BC

 

The Federal Government Continues to dodge public comments on the trade war as Trudeau seeks to avoid political controversy. According to polls, Canadians are 50-50 split on who's side they are on

Lol Alberta would go perfect with Trumps America lol. They are Canada's version of Texas. They are the most Conservative Province in Canada and their mentality is Economy first everything else second

 

BC is Canada's tree hugggers. They are the exact opposite of Alberta, they are perhaps the most left Province

 

The fact both Provinces are neighbours and have to trade a lot is a problem as disputes between those two is a constant chronic problem

 

Last few years Alberta has been trying hard to get pipelines built, the Federal Government approves them but British Columbia finds a way to block them everytime by stalling permits, taking court orders, adding extra reviews etc

 

Alberta basically has exploded now cuz their patience has run out cuz this is the 3rd or 4th major project in a row British Columbia is essentially shutting down

We are literally ruining ourselves. Anyway, I was born and raised in Saskatchewan, and lived in Alberta for a little bit too. The people in the prairies are some of the worst people I’ve ever met. I currently live in B.C. and love it here sooooo much.

A black girl I knew from Highschool who had moved from Alberta told me when she lived there ppl were racist AF lol

 

PS: I get the frustration tho, if the Federal Government approves something I don't think BC should be always looking for a way to block it

 

Canada is loosing many billions a year in revenue as a result of price discounts due to infrastructure constraints. BC needs to understand when they block something they are doing it to all of Canada not just themselves

Hey Ontario wines have gotten many international awards in recent years and some are quite good. I'm from a Portuguese family and know European wines so I can tell u some Wines here are decent. They are sold mostly just in North America tho

 

Ice wine in particular is a huge thing. But that's different. I didn't know BC wine was a thing tho

 

As for Alberta they have 2 larger cities with 1 Million something people the rest is more country ish

 

They are the 4th most populated Province... They are the wealthiest Province and have all the largest Energy and Resource Companies headquartered there. They also have a lot of Coal, Natural gas, and produce a lot of dairy, wheat, canola, corn and other grains

 

They are actually vital to Canada's economy. So they are more than just "Country"

 

But the population of there as a whole is a lot more conservative than the rest of Canada

 

Their current left wing Government won for the first time ever. Before the current Government the Right Winged Conservatives won for 40 years in a row!!!!

 

Their left wing Government is pretty right winged tho by Canada standards

Canadian Provinces make up a higher percentage of Canadas taxes and spending than US States do in America... something many ppl are shocked to learn

This is part of why I don't like Trudeau

 

He tries so hard to keep a perfect image that he avoids controversy like the plague to not stain his reputation and the problem is controversial issues never get any guidance from him. He also Mences words a lot to not piss off both political sides of the spectrum so sometimes u don't even know which side he's on in issues

 

I think Marijuana legalization is perhaps the one of the few controversial things he's actually been very involved in making happen

 

Most controversial stuff he tries to not even comment on it.

 

In the case of Western Canada's trade war, it's not helping

 

I think the Federal Government not talking about it is part of the reason it's not getting much media attention, also NAFTA and Trump are a distraction in that department. But in the business channel I whatching they are covering Alberta and BC and what's going on there
