She was on drugs 24/7, that’s why she seemed like she enjoyed it, she needed drugs to actually go through all that promotion during that mini era. That speaks volume about her wanting to do it.

well she deffo worked hard on it compared to Eau, you can tell she either wanted to do it big or go home  

i'm not saying she was happy but she totally worked hard into delivering a quality product she was at least satisfied with, if she had to do it

There was no way that Gaga was happy to even make The Fame fragrance.  Just watch some of the promo interviews she did for it; she was high as a kite. The interviews were  pretty uncomfortable to watch because of how awkward they were, in my opinion. Plus, she's stated many times that she was very unhappy during that time period (as she was in constant pain, felt isolated/alone, and was forced to keep working).

THAT SAID, I know that a lot of people love The Fame perfume. I have a bottle of it that I still haven't even come close to using up, personally.  Eau de Gaga, however, smells lovely on me.  I love the earthy and citrusy leather quality to it. I find that Eau de Gaga is incredibly unique for a celebrity fragrance.

If the mood strikes her to make another perfume, I hope it's with an actual designer rather than a company like Coty (who churns out these cheap, dime a dozen, celebrity fragrances all of the time). I'd be totally HERE for her doing a collab with Thierry Mugler.  Mugler just released a perfume called "Aura," too ... Fun fact!

What makes you say that? She’s already made a fortune, she doesn’t need to build a business empire. She’s a musician not an entrepreneur.

I honestly don't think she's into perfume much at all. Her saying things like 'its only fragrance' doesn't sound like she appreciates the artisanship.

With Fame it was lot of things said for shock value like she wants to smell like an expensive hooker (perfumer Jean Carles was asked to create 'un parfum de puta', a *****'s perfume, in 1932. Tabu) and that it would smell like blood and semen ( Anoine Lie did that for Etat Libre d'Orange in 2006 with Secretions Magnifiques, and did it so well some people reputedly throw up when they smell it).

I don't think she ever had the vision in her head what blood, sperm and hookers would smell like.

And the "unique" black liquid was done before as well, but I have to look for that receipt.

But do I want something OTT like the Fame campaign again?

When they were releasing Fame and kept harping on the black liquid being the first they were resting on a technicality. Because it was in fact the first black liquid eau de parfum to hit the market. The only other previously released black fragrance was made as an oud or something I forget. That being said, it was never used for such commercial purposes either. Much like her music, she takes influences and brings them into the mainstream. Its the same as people griping about how Orlan did the facial prosthetics (from the born this way era) first, no one including gaga herself claimed to be the first to do it. It doesn't really matter at the end of the day. The dopeness and intrigue is in the fact that this commercial artist is even knowledgeable of such things in the first place and brings them into her dark bubblegum universe that makes her special imo. Its all about how you use your references and her being the first celebrity to market a black parfum made so much sense with her aesthetic imo. It was clever.

She will never release another fragrance because (a) she clearly had no personal investment in the world of fragrances and (b) celebrity fragrances are basically a dead market. they're out of all department stores + boutiques and have resigned to exclusive availability at sad bargain stores like Burlington Coat Factory and TJ Maxxx. Unless she magically takes a personal interest in crafting fragrances as a creative outlet and decides to make something out of quality ingredients with care that would probably have exclusive availability and be rather expensive, then there would be no point. theres no benefit in her making some random cheap fragrance and it not being advertised and it only being available for purchase at Ross or Perfumania.
