They are two pop goddesses who combine perfectly, I think Gaga is more like cher than a segment of the Madonna.

In fact, people give a lot of credits to Madonna when in fact Cher has been on the road for 20 years and breaking taboos, gaining recognition for LGBT and fighting for feminism

I think Gaga is a mix from all her idols, not just Madonna and Cher, i.e. Grace Jones, David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, Elton John, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, Whitney Houston, and the list goes on and on

if you go through her career tou'll find some things related to all of those listed above, but yeah mostly you can feel the Madonna/Cher vibe

edit: I think you're just trying to undermine Madonna's influence on Gaga in case someday M would do sth worse to damage Gaga's career
and honestly Cher's vision in making pop music is not as good as Madge's nor Gaga's

she just doesn't seem like a musician, more like an actress who accidentally became popular as a singer

I'm not trying anything, Gaga had a lot of Madonna. However when talking about reinvention / versatility Cher is much bigger than Madonna and is respected in the various areas of art. Gaga was not just to provoke, she wanted to go beyond her image. I hope her can get far

I know what you're trying to say and I kinda agree with that

I feel like the more I try to state my view on how Gaga is more similar to M than to Cher can become a shade on Cher, so I decided to stop

I totally see Cher in Gaga.

Also I recently watched a Cher movie. Moonstruck I think it's called with Nicolas Cage and Cher looked so much like Gaga it made me wonder why do they never get compared. Oh yeah it's cos she's had so much surgery she doesn't look natural anymore. But Cher's natural face looks so much like Gaga. 

Her face here for example reminds me of Gaga during The Fame Monster era.
