I’m in Paris and it’s freezing. We’re almost in March! :grr:

back before the 1980s it was pretty normal to have freezing temperatures up till late March/early April :saladga:

and as shitty as that sounds, it is pretty important, cuz it held insect populations in check

Everything that includes holding insect populations in check is great for me!

Maybe the earth is going back to a normal cycle?

nope, usually the northpole only has "melting periods" in the summer, but this time it is happening in winter...which is absolutely a sign something is wrong. This can change the sea currents in short/long term...change climates world wide. And this has major repercussions for ecosystems but also agriculture...expect more food scarcity and water shortages in more regions of the world

"UK weather: Snow causes disruption"
"The Met Office has issued Scotland's first red snow warning - meaning there is a risk to life and people should take immediate action to keep safe."

I've been reading reports the whole day and to be honest I am confused.. They are stressing on how serious the situation is, how there is even risk to life, but at the same time just up to 20 cm of snow is expected till Friday and the average temperature is -5 C. So why the red warning? :saladga: I know that in the UK it doesn't snow often, yet it's not like this is a tropical country...

"Supermarket shelves EMPTY as UK shoppers panic buy" and this! :ladyhaha::toofunny:

I am in Edinburgh rn and honestly I don't think it is that bad... maybe it's because I come from a country where these weather conditions are nothing unusual.

Spoiler

we've had to beg to leave school and go home when it was -15C and triple the amount of snow :selena:
