Can you just stop with putting the blame on Christianity?Blame SPECIFIC CHRISTIANS that are toxic!I'm Catholic Christian and i support gay rights and am bi myself...so can you just prevent blaming everything on Christianity?

Christians and their religion preach about peace, tolerance and helping others, many misinterpret its goals and beliefs.

I was raised Catholic and it’s a destructive, selfish, and close minded philosophy.

Hold up. I don't think anyone's attacking Christianity. We stan a Catholic queen, after all.

Anger is directed at Christians who claim to stand for "Christian values" but just use religion as a cudgel to attack others.

You got your answer UP there

This is why the world is at war.Someone claiming to be nice, accepting and kind, but disrespects one religion.

Can't you just respect other people and their beliefs? It's really not nice calling someone's faith destructive, selfish, and close minded.

I have zero tolerance for a book that preaches consequences for the LGBT, free thinking women, abused children, genital mutilation, etc. is unacceptable the horrors  organized religion has brought upon our world, and the hault it continues to shove on scientific and medical innovation.

While I do see the personal benefits of believing in a diety for guidance, you cannot preach peace if only “parts” of your book express violence and consequences for the “un-normal” such as myself and many on this website.

I don't think this is purely because of us here. Some of us have very negative experiences with religion, and you can't deny that it happens. Sure the religion at core may be good (the holy books are not pleasant in my opinion), but the people around it (pastors, teachers, etc) who carry out the faith can (and did) hurt us a lot.

I'm glad you have a positive experience with Christianity. Some of us don't. And the reason we're frustrated at the Christians is because the religion has a very strong dominant presence in the U.S. especially in the State (and more so in the Republicans).

We're frustrated that the people who preach love don't show love. They talk the talk, but never walk the walk.

So if i have unpleasant experiences with Islam,i should dislike them and have negative opinion about them?Is that really justified?

Don’t ask for my motives. Gaga was more of a miracle to understanding my sexuality and valuing my life than Catholicism ever was. Come to me with an answer.

It depends to a degree. If you have unpleasant experiences with a friend, you should be allowed to dislike him/her and not pursue the relationship here. It doesn't mean you can kill the friend or make her life miserable, but you leave her alone and simply don't interact.

LGBT (and other minorities) suffered gay conversion therapies, lack of sex ed in school, police brutality, and unfair exclusions in US and countries around the world because the leaders claim that they're doing what God told them. I think it's fair to say they're allowed to feel how they feel.

Do I have Christian friends? Of course. Will I hate a stranger for believing in God or Jesus? No, but I will have certain assumptions based on experiences, and I don't mind if the person prove them wrong to me on case-by-case.

I don't care if you're a Muslim, Jewish, or Christian neighbour to me. But those who have power seems to misunderstand what religion and love means. I hate those who cause pain in the Middle East, and I hate those who cause pain here.

No one is blaming all Christians, but let's not pretend that the source of this intolerance is not Christianity/Religion.
