The Essential Mariah Carey

On May 8, 2012, Sony Legacy will release Mariah Carey: The Essential, a two-disc collection of some of Mariah's biggest hits and favorite tracks from her Sony Music catalogue.

The track listing is very similar to that of 2001's Greatest Hits, but with several variations:

It will never be a 'greatest hits' until the last few singles from the past 5/6 years are included. I.e. 'its like that' 'we belong together' 'touch my body' etc.

I don't know why they keep churning out the same 'repackages'.

Everyone seemed to hate MOAIA...I actually love it. Only bad tracks are Angels Cry and I Want To Know What Love Is.

Betcha Gon' Know is my sassy song tbh and the last minute of Candy Bling is everything. I don't see where the hate is coming from.

From this new album I expect, TEOM, E=MC2, MOAIA and Charmbracelet all squished together.

Mariah hits the studio with Rick Ross

Mariah Carey got bossy with Rick Ross during her trip to Miami this week. The pop diva, who previously collaborated with Rozay on the remix to “Touch My Body,†hit the studio for a recording session with her Def Jam labelmate. They were joined by Jermaine Dupri and DJ Khaled.

Ross is expected to announce a new single and release date for his album God Forgives, I Don’t any day now. He has been in the studio with Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, Swizz Beatz, and Timbaland, among others.

Mariah has been working with Jermaine Dupri and Randy Jackson on her first album since 2009’s Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. She will fly to Paris later this month to celebrate her wedding anniversary and the first birthday of Dem Babies before her show in Ischgl, Austria, on April 30.

Mariah hits the studio with Rick Ross

Praying she's on his album and he's not on hers.. I don't hate Ross, but I just don't think he would fit in any song of hers. Someone like Nas, André 3000 (listen to "Party by Beyonce and you'll know what I mean ) who can make it classy and not seem like a mess can fit with Mariah. :P
