The people who enable this kind of behavior by consistently canceling or denying any form of regulation or political action will not care. It’s sad. Having a gun gives you the power to take a life. If you take away that power from the people who could do harm, that would be much more effective than giving everyone the same power to kill. This person had 2 accounts showing off firearms and killing animals and no one catched on until its too late. Take for example how this thread is still up and how no one took action against it at all. Years ago these stories would shock the nation and now they're just weekly news. How long until these become daily events? The change needs to come from the individual level, not the state. I've already seen people calling this a hoax humans are so self destructive. Especially those here in the good ol' U.S.A. it seems. Of course, the vast majority of gun control opponents believe that gun control = confiscation of every fire arm. Which could not be further from the truth. Guns are not the sole issue here. Lax, irresponsible laws and a twisted culture are. Hell, we have civilians here who could out gun a small country that's one hell of an oversight. The second most common argument is that bad guys get guns anyway, why criminalize the more dangerous ones? Which is just...stupid why have laws at all then?! Criminals will just break them! And the most annoying one for me is "wow, the bodies aren't even cold and you're already trying to politicize this". Like, tbh, if 20 kids can be gunned down and your first thought isn't "how do we stop this from happening" then you're a prick plain and simple. I know I'm getting carried away but I'm surrounded by these assholes in a state where there's zero waiting times for semi-automatic rifles like the one used at Pulse and a three day waiting time for pistols. Half assed or no background checks needed and they're done by the retailer, not law enforcement. Just...how? People are in prisons for decades for possessing marijuana: a drug that has led to zero overdose deaths. America only cares about crimes when people of color commit them.
