What Joanne track could have been a better lead?

I mean, I love Perfect Illusion but the GP clearly didn't and it fell off the charts faster than you can say ferrari. I, personally, think Diamond Heart would have been a better choice.Although Perfect Illusion is a bop, it failed to deliver that radio-friendly factor the GP loves. Dancin' In Circles could have done quite great with some tweaking BUT tye song doesn't represent the album's theme or sound at all. A-YO is terrible. Million Reasons is too country-tinged it would have flopped harder than G.U.Y. outside the US, while Diamond Heart is a very personal yet somehow relatable song, with a less complex, more pop/rock stadium induced sound and a catchy chorus.

So, leave your opinions sisters. :sis:

Love how you comment that Million Reasons would have flopped... yet it is a Billboard Top 4 hit and is the best selling song off of the album... It would have been a better lead single. :trollga:

Spoiler

Diamond Heart, A-YO, or John Wayne I would accept as well. Any other choice is the wrong choice.

Make it stupid!

that's only because of the superbowl + 12 performances....it was not an organic hit and didn't do well in Europe

Diamond Heart and Dancin' in Circles are my favorites as single materials.

But A-YO should be the lead tbh.

It's the most indicative song for the whole album.

Phlease stop

MR would have been an "organic hit" if it didn't follow 1 week top40 single Perfect Delusion

Ms I am a local

John Wayne or A-YO would have been better leads... At least, that is what I think... or even Diamond Heart

PunkTheFunk

If DIC had radio-friendly lyrics, some darker, Alejandro-esque production, and a rap verse, I think it would've smashed :interestinga:

The song which was the easiest to understand on Joanne was indeed Diamond Heart

+ the few first listens felt like I was listening to a masterpiece

So I agree, it could have been a great lead single

MR would been huge but i kind of still want it to be the 2nd single with a superbowl peformance. I think A-Yo would been a hit as the lead, not a smash like her other leads but still alot betten then PI.
