Eh.

Yeah, I just thought it was interesting the idea of honoring a late family member and how these themes were present through Joanne. The timing seemed just right!

The pastels probably not. “Millennium pink”, as much as I hate that name, was the Pantone color last year so it’s been in the zeitgeist for awhile.

with regards to everything else, it’s definitely possible. I do think that even digging beyond the surface, Gaga may have inspired her to dig deep to honor Gianni. Donatella was incredibly close with him and she’s said on multiple occasions since his death that she’s never really been able to move on from his murder. That sounds an awful lot like Joanne’s presence on Gaga’s family and both having strong Italian heritage, I could see how the way Gaga speaks of healing affecting Donatella. There’s a kinship in how they view family.

That pale pink is hardly a Joanne influence. When I first saw the cover photo my first thought was: oh, millenial pink! Every company in the world is after the millenials' cash, a group that don't fall for the usual commercial tricks, and realised many favour that pale pink shade. That's the reason everything seems to be that perticular shade these days.

But still...uhh...yasss!!!

I mean my post was supposed to kind of be a reach to begin with BUT even though Donatella may not be 100% “this is Joanne inspired” - I really think that it’s been an influence in the process.

I know even just by listening to Joanne on my own, I’ve thought about family in such a different way - and just appreciating the place you are currently in.

True - I just thought it was interesting how there were a lot of (probably unintentional) Joanne themes in the show and how Gaga really knows what she’s doing when it comes to trends and fashion, she really studies this stuff!

You're right. Overall I'm sure Gaga is an inspiration to (want to write 'that old hag' but remembered I'm supposed to be a nice guy) her, which is sweet. I don't know anyone who buys Versace though. But then again I don't go out much these days...
