Gaga's ambition "destroyed" her

Ehh, not sure about Gaga feeling that way. All I know is that some of you fans certainly did feel this way over her. And actually pressured her to do the most basic things just for her to get #1 radio hit again. Kinda sad  tbh.

Regarding MJ, there was this interview where Oprah talked with JK Rowling. And there, Oprah said MJ confessed that he never expect Thriller to sell that much, to be that popular and have huge impact. And it ruined him cos he tried to repeat the same success again ever since, to no avail.

Also from the same interview, it is known that JK Rowling refused MJ offer to do Harry Potter musicals.

Eh...You're reaching at this point. First off. Gaga isn't "destroyed". Where I feel she may have made a slight mistake is changing her brand from Avant Garde" to Joanne. Will she continue to be a chameleon and change up on us? Probably. However, her worst point in her career was with ARTPOP. Everyone was Against her and the Album was a flop. Joanne wasn't a flop. She had a hit with Million Reasons. Her tributes are heavily regarded, and she did the Super Bowl. Her Performance of the National Anthem is now seen as the second vest female solo performance of the song. She won an Oscar. She is going to have a new movie come out. Her tour was sold out. Her career is no where near destroyed. I think some people tend to focus way too hard on the negative, and don't concentrate on the positives. She is often regarded as a true artist and vocalist and is very much respected now. I don't think it's fair to discredit the last couple years for her. It really has been a great two years in her career.

ARTPOP outsold Joanne x2 and Applause was much bigger hit than Million Reasons and was actualy a hit outside US as well. Joanne did worse than ARTPOP, so if you think AP was flop so is Joanne. The difference is, she had a better immage during Joanne and redeemed herself, there were no people and media bashing her and etc unlike during AP.

I think it’s all media’s fault. They/we put Gaga in a pedestal after TFM era like she was already on Madonna / MJ level because she was so great. And that made her label or herself think she could stop playing safe. BTW was not a “safe” choice as a follow-up to TF/TFM (even though I love it so much)

Katy Perry was still playing safe till Prism. Yeah she made the music she wanted to make but she still made several “hits-options” for every album (even for Witness, CTTR)

but I appreciate Gaga’s instinct to make something new and genuine every time that’s why I’m a fan but she would be even bigger that she is today if she kept releasing more few records about her crazy fashion mysterious persona

The only thing that "destroy" Gaga is that her rise to super stardom was too fast.

She is THAT artist that people haven't seen in a long time. Groundbreaking and amazing. The hype around her was too big,  which later, it "destroyed" her chart success when she released ARTPOP - an album was seen as pretentious and too weird.

Her overexposure leads her to where she is now, so blame it on the media, it's not her fault tbh. And after 10 years, she changes.

I think some of you forget how she was during BTW And ARTPOP. She also did a pretty good job of putting people off her, and her music. With Born This Way she became kinda pretentious, with those weird things on her face, that egg thing, the album cover, Judas Song. She and her team made some bad decisions with BTW and people stepped back, she wasn't fun weird, this rebell girl who makes amazing music and has an amazing connection to her fans, she became weird weird, "praying to Judas", being too dark etc. She tried to step back with TEOG and YAI, but i think it was already a bit too late.  Then came ARTPOP, album where Art meets Pop... she became so pretentious about this album, when i heard it, it was like "okay gurl, where is the ART? This all sounds a little bit dated".

She did a good job after that, with C2C and also with Joanne, but she still has a problem about talking too much. I love her, but sometimes it's really hard listening to her. But i loved Five Foot Two, she was different then in all her interviews recently.
