tbh I was soooo looking forward to see her live, and I had a GREAT time.
She really proved that she can SING and that she's still creative etc

HOWEVER, some parts of the show were way too dreadful and just not entertaining enough...
AFter 30 mins u kind of knew how the rest of the show would be: just her switching from stage to stage, snging her songs, a lil bit of choreo here and there, and that's it. I also noticed the people around me were kind of getting over it after the first half of the show

yes, the stage is one of the most impressive ones I've ever seen, and her vocals are on POINTTTTT this era, but you just need more than that if u constantly preach about 'never doing the same **** twice' etc

it really is one of her best tours (quality wise), but there's nothing new to see basically... every song still sounds the same and she performs it the same way like she always did

just wish she'd experiment a bit more live... (just a very weird example: starting Just Dance with a Bollywood-inspired version or sth like that), idk just sth NEW

Joanne was basic. Fact. Not opinion. Fact.

This site is always so quick to jump on anyone who criticises her when it’s actually very fair. I like Joanne, I do but it’s nowhere near ICONIC or lasting. It is what it is. A basic pop album that will not be remembered in time.

Gaga is capable of incredible things and it’s inevitably gonna happen and I’ll be here for it like I always am with her but this album just ain’t it. It’s time to end it (it has now, let’s be honest, it’s over) and move on.

Guys, it’s OK not to worship everything she does. If you do, you either haven’t reached that maturity yet or you’re lying to yourself.

I think the critic means that it was very tame for a Gaga concert. But I do think other than that it wasn't a very fair review.

Bullshit? Calling her conservative it’s the most stupid thing I’ve ever heard said about her when she kills herself on stage, talks to her gay audience about coming out to their parents at her concert, calls herself a slut while singing about masturbation, doing a segment of two male dancers dancing together while belting out Alejandro/Born This Way, etc.

I mean, what’s she’s supposed to do to please this man? She wanted people to come along with the album without losing her Gaga touch, that’s the message on it and it gets across the whole show

has this guy went to a Katy Perry/Bruno Mars/Taylor Swift show? Talk about playing it safe there

He meant "conservative" as in the creativity of the show and the performances, not her political views or profanity.

2/5 is too harsh but I understand where he's coming from. As spectacular as the stage production is, the overall show feels a bit mechanical by the numbers. Sometimes it almost seems like she's sick of performing the same old songs from TF(M). There is a lack of overarching theme and it's probably because she had minimum involvement in the tour preparation due to ASIB shooting. It's a conservative show in a sense that it's a pretty straightforward pop concert and she didn't push any new ideas.

And yet. And yet.

And this is what bothers me. Unlike all those fans and all those knowledgeable critics, the whole thing left me as cold as a spring holiday in Skegness.

It seemed to me the physicality of her performance compromised her singing at times, a problem compounded by the stadium speakers which made the top register of her voice decidedly screechy.

The show itself was disappointingly ordinary.

Gaga has gone conservative.

And then there were the tedious and preachy monologues, the constant and unsubtle promotion of her latest album, and the totally uncool yelling of instructions as if we were toddlers who needed to be told how to act and what to feel.

Maybe it was my position high up in the gods that killed the vibe and explains why my experience is so far removed from everyone else's. Perhaps it was the middle-aged bloke in front of me scrutinising the football scores on his phone all night, or the old bloke behind me with ear buds inserted while assiduously making notes.

I don't know.

I suppose I was expecting something more unconventional from a performer who spent the evening telling us how different she was.

Im trying not to be biased because I ****ing love jwt but this whole review felt like a bad school English project written by an 8th grader it felt so hazy and he just didn't get his point across he himself said he didn't really know why he was so disappointed and from what I could see the only thing he really complained about was she came across too normal and not very artistic and to knock off a full three stars just over that one petty complaint

Whispering

It's one semi-negative review out of the hundred or positive reviews.

The vast majority of reviewers gave Gaga and the show glowing words of praise.

If you see Madonna or Kylie they do new arrangements to their old songs so they never sound the same: medleys, mashups, speed up some songs, turn others into ballads... she should start doing it.

PF, BR... and the rest are amazing the way they are but after 4 tours it is true that they are a little bit repetitive.

I can't imagine BR with another coreo though.

She delivered anyway.

Remember when she hated hollywood? Now she's hollywood's favorite pop star (Golden Globe, Oscars, she has a Netflix documentary, Vegas Residency). I mean, come on guys...don't let the Gaga stanning blind you.

I've seen you say this in other threads, running out of arguments eh?

OT:

LM before cancellation: OMG I LOVE JWT GAGA IS BAAAACK

*Gaga cancels the tour bc she's in pain*

*A critic gives it a bad review a few days before*

LM: GAGA'S LOST HER SPARK SHE'S CONSERVATIVE NOW!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

this is the state of grace, this is the worthwhile fight

I was actually referring to kylie and madonna without trying to say their names! Madge is like the queen of reinventing her old songs!

that's called being repetitive, and suprise, it's annoying to have a person say the same thing a hundred times across the forums

you're being the joke here, attacking me just for saying your repetitive posting is annoying. two answers in and you're already resorting to telling me to block you, rather than trying to argue like a reasonable person. guess some people take criticism better than others smh
