I love the people on here acting like prejudice in private is the same thing as prejudice in public. It absolutely isn't. And I make no bones about this: Camilla was being racist. She just had the decency to not do it in public. You could say its a slippery slope, and you'd actually be right, just in the opposite direction. Let's not forget as the years go by, prejudice of all types is becoming more unacceptable to be seen. This, ideally, leads to a society wherein the new generations are less prejudiced than those before them. If you're only prejudice in private, then you are consciously trying to improve society, even if your motivation is to not be ostracized by that very society. That's not to say they should be applauded. In fact, far from it, they are still prejudiced. But to equate this person to someone who is outwardly racist/homophobic/sexist/etc. is absolutely ridiculous. I'm not saying it should condoned, just that it shouldn't be condemned in the same way.

I applaud those of you who can say that if you're private messages were leaked or your private conversations are recorded, you wouldn't be in any trouble. You are the ideal future. But be aware, you are the minority. When you give anecdotal evidence, it comes off "holier-than-thou".

When it all comes down to it, I am biased. My first impression of Camilla was positive, and I like some of her songs. I had nothing against her before today, so I wasn't exactly eager to jump on the #CamillaIsOverParty train. And there is this whole thing with she's given a pass because she's a woman, and we're told all the time that we shouldn't tear women down, we should only raise them up #HeyGirl. But then, that's how all this gossip sh*t works. If you don't like the person in question or you don't know them but they said something prejudiced and you are either a part of that group or care for that group, you'll be likely to join in on the witch hunt, or at least steer clear of that person. If you do like that person, or at least their product, then you're willing to overlook anything problematic they say. At this point, Gaga could say she wished that I personally had never existed (and I can't be sure she hasn't thought this), that still wouldn't affect how I feel for her in the slightest. I'd be hurt, but I'd still love her and wish her all the happiness in the world. Yes, its an extreme example, but I think it highlights what I'm trying to say.

And you know what? That's okay. If you wanna join in on the drama and defend or tear down someone simply because you like or dislike them, respectively, more power to you. After all, it keeps me entertained.

I'm way more annoyed that people spent the time, energy, and resources to show that Camilla is racist over way more important issues. She's a pop singer. She makes music for people to enjoy. What do I care that she and her friends use racial slurs in private conversation? If she started using racial slurs in songs, then we have an issue, because then it's public racism, which is imperative to address.

If this were a pop star I didn't like, I doubt I'd be so annoyed, but I'd still find it redundant. Either you already knew or wanted it to be true just to vindicate your dislike of them. If you told me Justin Beiber called people n****a (or with the hard R) or f****ts in personal conversations, I wouldn't bat an eye.

I'm even more annoyed that I was annoyed enough to write all this crap.

Sis that's how trump won by people being "racist" in private & acting like they agree to getting along & fighting for tolerance but go to voting booths that completely contradict the front they put.

Yeah this site is officially too “Anti-men.” Like someone said earlier, if this was a male artist we’d all be done. Y’all were just bashing ed, just saying Offsets career should be over for saying Queer, now this chick should get a free pass for being the equivalent of a gamer on COD lmao. She says The n word, f word, but it’s fine right? Lmao this site is canceled when it comes to anything progressive.

I don’t wanna see not one person complains about anyone saying the Fword ever again. Ha

Maybe I misread a lot of things, but there are still a lot of people who aren't defending her? It's dangerous to use that kind of mentality to soften the blow of male artists who are using equally offensive language (I hope you aren't), just because a few users on this site are defending, or intentionally ignoring, Camila's use of such language.

And on the "F"-word: it's much different than when she or "anyone" uses it, as opposed to those (aka gays/queers) who have rightfully reclaimed it, and choose to use as such.

3 points in and ready for more

SCHEISSEMONTRE

Practically every celebrity in their career has probably said it or used it in some way. Ex: Miley, Katy, JB, etc. And the fact that some person took the time to find all this when we have more important things to do makes it’s annoying.

Imagine trying to defend a 19 year olds racism and calling them mistakes of youth :air:

She knew what she said. In a time where it's not hard to go on Google and educate yourself. Yet she said it anyway.

Y'all are transparent as always :smh:

Life ain't Hollywood for any one of us.
