People freak out about a child that wears "coolest Monkey" among many other clothes but speaking another language with non english speaker who had to learn english is not okay or whaaat? no way W=warning? Thats kind of an opinion. I thought it was well produced, positive, and had a strong groove to it. Not every pop song has to be deep. There can actually be really great "basic" songs sometimes that are created and performed well. It was a well deserved #1 in my opinion because it was the type of fun song that broke up the constant hip-pop/chill-pop of the summer. So it was a smart move too. It actually kind of reminded me of the 1990's where alot of pop stars would have risque songs on their albums but they would always have a really great song that even kids in school could listen to in the car with their friends and family. I enjoyed there being a good/funky upbeat song that I could bop to but also not be afraid to blast with my little nieces and nephews. And it's not like pop music is just that anymore. 75% of pop music these days is weirdly depressing and too emotionally messy for me. Which....ironically makes alot of current pop lose its punch and seem like a field of bland emotions. A little sunshine on the radio is nice sometimes.
