PopThatArt 2,193
Confirmation of the original Charmed series getting a reboot is in the news, most of the actresses who appeared in Charmed are denouncing the idea of the reboot, especially because of a comment being made about the reboot being more "feminist", Holly Marie Combs who played Piper has taken issue on twitter with the reboot and the feminist comment, saying the original was very much about strong women and sisterhood, and she finds insult in what has been said, and how they are trying to bring back the show the network originally cancelled after 8 years. What are your thoughts on the reboot? Are you a Charmed fan? I'm kind of conflicted by the idea, and would much prefer a Charmed movie featuring all the actors and actresses reprising their roles. 2018 marks the 20th anniversary of the shows debut and I always thought a movie would be great. I think CW is looking for a show to take the place of Supernatural, which is said to be ending in a couple years, which is kind of ironic, how CW basically cancelled Charmed because they felt Supernatural could take it's place. thatfoxyfeeling 13,009
I wish they’d stop rebooting/remaking iconic tv shows and films. They will be doing Buffy next.
Eighteen 5,430
i like the original charmed. it was rough around the edges but funny and good. and idk how you can get more feminist than the original charmed. they were 3 women saving the world every day. and sometimes twice a day. Scathach 6,674
I was a huge fan of the original and I watched the show everytime it was on. And I might be the only one, but I'm excited for this reboot. If it's well done, it could be nice. And I think about the new generation who could enjoy the show as much as we did when we were young. Because the previous one didn't age very well (I'm talking about the special effects). As for the "feminist" comment, CW said "this fierce, funny, feminist reboot". I think medias over-exaggerated the feminist part, they just used that word to describe it, like funny (the previous one was funny) so I don't think it was an insult to the original. And I said that in the previous thread, but Charmed was not that much of a feminist show in the last seasons. Phoebe storyline was just trying to find a man, she even wanted to drop her power to have a family. The producers made them wear more sexy clothes. Even Rose McGowan called them out and she recently said that Charmed only had 1 female director. The showrunner and mostly all the writers were male. Which is problematic for a show with women, if you ask me.
Azor Ahai 18,861
Charmed was iconic and one of my fave shows ever. I hope the reboot doesn't suck but it probably will.

Its what she deserves.gif we all know Charmed is the one with better writing, acting and cultural relevance. Anyways, I will watch the first episode out of curiosity what they do with it, however, I am quite positive it will not beat the original for me. I loved that show it was first series that I watched from start to finish. I'm the bitch that's fragile
highlikegaga 9,022
at first i was happy, but seeing the actresses being against it i changed my opinion. just because it's 2018 doesn't mean the visual effects/acting will be better. it's probably going to be a cheap rip-off with weaker talent. charmed worked because of the chemistry between the actresses. i don't see that happening twice. i still need Paige and Prue to meet. So as long as they give me a scene with those two I'm happy with whatever they want to do.
FalsePromise 424
Should've been banned and I wish it flops before it even begins. Anything Charmed that doesn't include the original cast does not have my approval!
JevyDuty 2,961
I was a HUGE fan from the beginning seasons and I must say I'm sorta pissed. The way they rushed the finale because they were cancelled last minute..... so many lose strings... I was shocked and sad. They've been disrespecting these girls for a long time now. They disrespected the fans. They half-assed the finale after 8 Seasons commintment from fans and now they want fans to give this reboot 100%. No, I won't watch. Nemo 4,291
It's funny, I feel like Alyssa and Rose are more famous than they've ever been right now... but, as activists. I'm against all reboots of anything, until proven wrong. But, I can imagine some improvements they could make on the original. Like, try to really portray Wicca, instead of glossing over it. And skip the Harry Potter rip-off plot line.
tomsches 17,395
I'm not a fan of remakes in general. Why not appreciate a classic? Also: if the original power of three (with Prue instead of Paige) ain't in it, I'm not gonna watch it.
CardiB 31
Reboots SUCK like 99% of the time and they're doing nothing but hurting the legacy of the show.
