That's just like saying Britney is the most scrutinized music act since Michael Jackson; as in more scrutinized than Lady Gaga Janet Jackson and Beyonce combined just from 1999-2008 alone (not Beyonce or Gaga as their fans like to assume and receipts can easily be provided that she has, in fact, faced more scrutiny than all three combined.) A few people on this forum said that Britney was the first to innovate it,so that's why I said what I said. And I never intended to seem like I was scrutinizing Britney because I love her dearly. I just think it's quite comical that a few of her stans would say that she was the first young artist to make Vegas the place to be for residencies when it's just not true. Celine was around Gaga's age when she first started A New Day... back in 2003 and she made a viable career out of these two shows alone. I was also making this thread a point to Justin Timberlake who was saying that "Vegas is where artists go to retire" which is definitely untrue as well. Celine was one of the first big artists to go to Vegas, but Britney was the first artist still making hits and being popular to go there and you can see that more artists and more current ones went to Vegas in 2013-7(when Britney started PoM) than in 2003-13(when Celine started her show) and in half the time on top of that. Celine had influence on Vegas, but I don't think that JLo, Mariah, BSB, Ricky Martin, Bruno Mars, Gaga and etc. would have gone anytime soon if Britney hadn't started PoM.
