This album is going to take a few more listens to grasp fully but, nonetheless, at first listen, it's a very well-made album. Very polished and EXTREMELY well-produced and VERY ahead of its time and, even though I was only 3-4 years old when Music was released, I am sure that it cemented Madonna's position as one of the most creative woman in the music industry because I've NEVER heard a MAINSTREAM album as interesting as Music was. Mirwais Ahmadzai is a fantastic producer and William Orbit is just as good (although I found his work on Ray of Light to be FAR more impressive, I can see why Madonna moved on from him for American Life). Vocally it's on-par with the rest of Madonna's albums, no better and no worse than any of the albums that preceded Music. Speaking of Madonna's voice, one of the things I LOVE about Madonna is that her voice hasn't changed so drastically, I mean it's clearly different from 1983-1989 Madonna but, regardless, her voice is still intact today (see Falling Free from MDNA) and easily recognizable.

My favorite songs on Music were the following:

1) Music.

2) Impressive Instant. :legend:

3) Amazing.

4) Don't Tell Me

5) Paradise (Not For Me). Such a mystical track, it has the ability to put you in a trance. I got chills. :legend: Reminds of the feeling I got when I first listened to Frozen.

6) American Pie. :dead: Her cover of this song is F-L-A-W-L-E-S-S. Definitely the best William Orbit-produced track on the album.

*Special mention to Cyber-Raga. I did not understand one word AT ALL. But the production was FLAW FREE. I just listened to the instrumental and I think I might of just risen to... . *

Here's a link of the instrumental if any of you are interested:

OK, guys, I have a video for the Re-Invention WT and the Drowned WT. Which one should I see first?

In other words, which one is better? :teehee:

I love DWT, however it can get slightly boring.

RIT is great too, but not my favorite

RIT all the way. It was awesome growing up with her and follow her through so many classics and see her reach her stardom where she didn't have to rely on her hits with DWT, but seeing the classics return in RIT was amazing and so surreal. :legend:

Re-Invention Tour is better for me.

I would watch DWT first. It's so theatrical and amazing and dark and I love Ray of Light, but it is slower because of the three albums she used in it. It's almost like theatre, so in that way mesmerizing, and not like a pop concert until the end.

Then I would follow up with Re-Invention Tour because the setlist is perfect and flows amazingly and has a great pop energy.. It's basically a freshened up greatest hits show but with great choreography and also with some great songs from American Life (and I love American Life) and Music as the newer music. The Hollywood Interlude is spectacular to me. I love that song. If you are talking about the full shows I posted, take note, I just went back and added a second link for the Re-Invention tour for the encore, Holiday. It was left off the the full show link

I have to agree with you. I always loved that show and revisted some of my favorite performances in I've Got a Secret To Tell You or just on youtube every so often. But finding this full show on youtube and rewatching it was amazing. I forgot how fantastic that show was. I just wish they would release a high-quality DVD for that show and Blond Ambition.

I don't know who is putting these full shows on youtube, especially the ones not out on DVD, but it's great. It's been in the last couple of weeks they've been put on. But the full Blond Ambition is on, both Japan and France. I've always watched clips but never been able to appreciate the whole show. I didn't even know there was a Dick Tracy set in there of standards. Madonna really had no interludes or time to rest, just one to two minutes to change off stage.

From the Truth or Dare documentary I remember her saying Japan was one of the first stops of her tour. So this would be one of her first shows, I think. Being that Asia is more conservative I see that her Like a Virgin performance is toned down and other s-xual references in the show. She doesn't cuss in the Japan show. She just said F.

There are different angles used in some songs on the France show, and it is the last show of the tour. She has the ponytail in Japan and the curly hair in Nice. She and her singers are cutting up more in the last show and more profanity. Her voice is much stronger in Japan. By the end of the tour and throat issues she was operating on fumes in a couple of places in the France show vocally. There are so many amazing parts to this show. Madonna is so campy. I think people don't realize she had that side to her back in her early days.

I'm not the only one that asks myself why the fukc "Miles Away" was a single, right?

I like the song, but "She's Not Me" would have been way better

I have never seen the full Girlie Show. Maybe I should buy it. I am blown away by this interlude. It is the best interlude she has ever done. She amazes me. When she did that tour, she was coming off tremendous backlash from her Sex Book, the movie, much lower sales for Erotica. People said her career was over. So she does the Girlie Tour, which deals with s-xuality and love who you want. Instead of backing away and being safe, she did the opposite. Parts of the show are very provocative, but I had never seen this interlude. It is too amazing for words. The choreography is absolutely mindblowing. And it is the most homoerotic performance I have ever seen between two men in a mainstream commercial pop show even to this day I'm sure, much less back in '93. It is like a dance of attraction/rejection. The artistry is amazing and original to this day. Madonna really was fearless and had such creativity in her shows.
