I ****ing hate it when people are like "Feminists are just man-haters, and they want women to be above men, blah, blah, blah". While there may be some feminists who take things to the extreme (as with just about any marginalized group), the vast majority of feminists just want equality. It's not a difficult concept to understand. I have this one classmate who goes on Twitter retweeting a bunch of "Meninist" stuff (non-ironically) and it annoys me so much. Like, do you not understand that feminism is needed for a reason. Even if we're not talking about the United States, there are still many places around the world where being a woman puts you at an inherent disadvantage.
