If you can’t even find a job, what makes you think that you can afford a golden ticket to Switzerland or Australia? You need wealth to become a refugee. This whole image portrayed in the media of “refugees coming here with nothing” is a lie. Poor people cannot afford a flight or cruise to a better life. For God sakes they can barely afford to eat. People jump on boats, trains, buses, whatever. Not all of them pay. Yes, some do, like the examples I gave, but some genuinely want to leave and take the risk by jumping on a form of transport with no belongings. I mean, come on, if you thought everyone got to everywhere in the world legally, you're deluded. 12 minutes ago, Morphine Prince said: You may not be it but you sound like it to me. I’m not discussing the migrant issue but that was an interesting read. Well, I hope I can one day convince you otherwise. I'd just like to know what I could say to prove to you that you've got the wrong idea. Any suggestions? Because I'll give you anything. I have nothing to hide. I'd wish you'd see instances of me defending minorities more, by the way. I just did it an hour ago, in another thread, actually. Well, thank you for gaining a new take on it. I think it's very important to realise that as women, we live very different worlds and have fears for our safety that men do not. I tense up when I go past groups of men on my own, I cross the street to avoid groups of men, I never sit next to men on transport if I can help it. It all comes from bad experiences that I've had and other women I know have gone through. I've been hit by a man. Worried that our local men will harm us is strong enough. Importing in men with no documentation who come from cultures with questionable views towards women is even more daunting.

I don't care That’s not an answer nor refutation. There’s literal government source refuting you. You still didn’t get that even paying for sex is sexual offence in Sweden, when you talk about highest number of offences and NO ONE SAID that sexual abuse/rape is not horrible, shocking and unacceptable 🙄 there’s no need to play that emotional card now, we are talking about numbers and how you misuse them to promote your agenda; one man raping one woman 365 days a year is counted as 365 rape cases and that’s NOT the case in most European countries, it would be counted as 1 rape case, not to mention women don’t even report sexual abuse and rape in so many countries in Europe; that’s why you can’t compare statistics like that and claim that Sweden is the worst when it comes to sexual crimes and even blame it all on immigration. “Sweden never had those problems until now” is false and intentionally misleading. Which two countries are the kidnapping capitals of the world? Australia and Canada. Official figures from the United Nations show that there were 17 kidnaps per 100,000 people in Australia in 2010 and 12.7 in Canada. That compares with only 0.6 in Colombia and 1.1 in Mexico. So why haven't we heard any of these horror stories? Are people being grabbed off the street in Sydney and Toronto, while the world turns a blind eye? No, the high numbers of kidnapping cases in these two countries are explained by the fact that parental disputes over child custody are included in the figures. If one parent takes a child for the weekend, and the other parent objects and calls the police, the incident will be recorded as a kidnapping, according to Enrico Bisogno, a statistician with the United Nations. Comparing crime rates across countries is fraught with difficulties - this is well known among criminologists and statisticians, less so among journalists and commentators. http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-19592372 FreePalestine

So many Nazis were relocated to Latin American countries after WW2. Why? Because they had money. Lots and lots of stolen wealth. The same goes on today. As I said before most refugees (as opposed to plain “immigrants”) are the 1% of their country. They’re fleeing because they fear democracy will take away their (stolen) wealth. Can you stop demonizing refugees? Considering how they’re treated in Australia, your comments aren’t helping. http://www.smh.com.au/comment/think-australias-treatment-of-refugees-and-asylum-seekers-is-ok-read-this-20160919-grjjz2.html https://www.vice.com/en_au/article/aeqavz/are-refugees-being-held-in-a-cage-in-a-greek-refugee-centre FreePalestine

Extremely high immigration but extremely low refugee intake - go figure. We want MORE people - as long as they’ll spend lots of money here. I am terribly ashamed of my country. We should be accepting MORE genuine refugees, not just teachers and doctors from countries that need them way more than we do 2) Countries that are closer to the conflict should be helping more. Eg Saudi Arabia is one of the richest counries in the world but is accepting ZERO refugees from Syria. Not very neighbourly!
