Eminem unapologetic about Trump criticism, doesn’t care if he lost fans

"At the end of the day, if I did lose half my fan base, then so be it, because I feel like I stood up for what was right and I'm on the right side of this," he told Billboard in an interview posted Thursday. "I don't see how somebody could be middle class, busting their a-- every single day, paycheck to paycheck, who thinks that that f------ billionaire is gonna help you."

"When I (put out "The Storm"), I felt that everybody who was with him at that point doesn't like my music anyway," he told Billboard. "I get the comparison with the non-political-correctness, but other than that, (Trump and I) are polar opposites."

Ok, now please respect women (stop talking about shoving their heads on roads and pissing on them) and stop saying fa**** and stop virtue-signaling. If you changed the minds of people, great I appreciate it, but it doesn't excuse anything else.

T should take notes on how to use her voice right, since she doesn’t seem to know how and she has a mic in her hands :giggle:

I respect his thoughts and values on this matter. I also agree with his assessment on Trump's motivations.

I agree with what he's saying, but I'm not totally feeling his sentiments in Untouchable. He paints too many issues as specifically black problems when some of the stuff he's talking about applies to any poor person of any race, which is a major faux pas. I saw a video on Vladtv where Lord Jamar was interviewed about the song and he said when a white boy hears it, all he'll take in will be the hook, which praises them. Notice how he didn't even touch on how the lyrics are in a super sarcastic tone. And that's total BS anyway, white men have been slammed for the past year, so as soon as they hear a lyric about them being untouchable, they'll immediately try to refute it. Their ears prick up like a dog's as soon as they hear a phrase like "straight cis white male" or "male privilege" or "patriarchy." Trust me, white men know what sarcasm aimed at them sounds like. There's a lot of ignorant racist white people, sure, but they're not that stupid. But as always, the stereotype about whites being so rich that they can afford good education vs. being dumb rednecks is used interchangeably, depending on what suits the topic/situation/argument the best. If you're going to stereotype, at least be consistent.

Once again, I agree with Eminem's anti-Trump stance. I just wish he'd go about it in another way and cut the virtue signalling and false general representations of whiteness. You can be anti-Trump without resorting to that.

I'm gonna be controversial and say I'm not here for this.

For me politics has no place in entertainment, and it just leaves me with a bad tase in my mouth when artists pollute their craft with it.

I respect Taylor much more for saying nothing. Whether she loves or hates Trump, that's up to her, and she shouldn't be expected to disclose that information just because she's "famous" or a well-known musician. The fact that she is criticised for staying quiet is crazy to me.

Thing is, artists need their inspiration from somewhere. If they've already sung about it all, especially if they've gone through their peak, got married, had kids, etc. What more is there to sing about? So, politics and the changing world is a great way to get an album's worth of material for an artist who's already covered everything in their personal life. When you live a life of ultimate luxury and happiness, what do you have to sing about? Especially if you're an artist who prefers to write music about stuff that's happened to them (as opposed to being happily married and writing a break up song because it sells)? It makes sense to write about the stuff that has happened to you or affected you, so your album rings true and people can feel the love you put into it. Certainly, current politics is what is inspiring me to get writing.

Now, of course, it's hit and miss. Not every artist does it right, or right according to your taste. Quite often, as in Eminem's case, I agree with the political stance but not the presentation, not the actual musical output. That's where it gets tricky. But as for Taylor, what annoys me about her is that she can only sing about things that directly affect her, i.e. her relationships and her scandals. I think she doesn't have it in her to make a political song since the bigger picture doesn't mean anything to her, all she can see is her very personal world, her personal circle. I don't believe she truly cares about politics, so why would she write a song about it? The only time we'll hear a political song from Taylor is if a politician slams her because now, politicians are directly affecting her and her image. Bit of a bash against her, there, but I'm just keeping it real.
