I mean she can SING. Loved her previous performances.

Personally I feel like there were times in this performance when I felt like she overdid it and went overboard with the vocal riffs and belts (2:09 with the "And Reeaaad each one out loouuuud" and 3:47 with the "StrooooOOOoooOoOooong").

For most of it, she sounded flawless and genuinely incredible. I just don't think those extra moments suit the song. Roberta Flack and Lauryn Hill sing the song as if they are, metaphorically, killing you softly. With those belts and riffs there was points when it felt like Jessie was trying to, metaphorically, bash your head in with a blunt object. It was too aggressive and strong.

That sounds a little harsher than I intended tbh, I still liked the performance and I think 98% of it was perfect. I just wish it was toned down a little bit in the moments I pointed out.

I mean, I get it though - it is a singing competition. It makes sense that you want to flaunt and showcase your vocal ability to it's full potential. I don't blame her for those moments, you do what you have to do to win a competition based on your vocal abilities. It would just be nice to hear her sing it in a non-competitive environment where she can bring it down a bit.

She has never sounded better than during this show. Congrats to her. I used to like her voice, but the past few years I hated almost every live performances of her cause she sounded really extra and try-hard which led to destroying the melody of every song she sang. But I guess China did miracles to her

The thing is.. if she would sing all of these legendary songs I would pay a lot of money to see her perform live. But for her own music? Nah.. Her problem is her music. She shouldn't do the generic pop.

I agree she needs an Adele esque album

Although her first album "Who You Are" was a great pop record , she just couldn't recreate the magic and I think she should focus on a vocal centered stripped back album

I mean she can easily make a song the size of Adele's Hello vocally
