Just look at the difference between The Fame's Lovegame and the new Joanne MV preview.

She has changed and evolved so much. :firega::kara:

BTW, who is ready to get Joanne (Where Do You Think You’re Goin’?) Piano Version to #1?

Yes she changed a lot but I wouldnt say "evolve". In terms of Music Video quality she has declined a lot after Marry the Night

That is what I thought but the perfect illusion has so much art and thought put into it. It is less over the top but the messages and symbols in the videos are meticulously choreographed.

I actually like the PI video as well :stalkga:

but I agree the quality and creativity of her videos isn’t what it used to be. Hopefully for LG6 things get better.

the music itself is still fantastic, though, and her vocals have only gotten better

That was the idea, though. Whether you like it or not is a different story, but it’s supposed to be disorienting to exude the feeling of crazed paranoia she’s feeling in the song. It’s actually some really masterful creative camera work but obviously it isn’t going to be widely enjoyed lol

Ok :poot: I think it was an improvised MESS but I respect your opinion

But if you watch it along with the editing and the flashing, it all conveys that feeling. Like I said, you can dislike it, but as Gaga has done this technique in no other video of hers, it’s safe to say that this was wholly intentional on the part of her and Ruth.

I personally hated Wolf of Wallstreet because it was paced in such a way to mimic a narrative adrenaline rush and then a steep drop off (like drugs). Still, I appreciate the work that went into  crafting the movie just so so as to give audiences that experience. It’s really creative and interesting.

I’m not directly comparing the two works, but I just mean to say that editing and camerawork are used to create effects both good and bad for the audience. How much you enjoy it is another matter, but whether it was successful or not depends on whether or not they achieved their goal of making you *feel* something based on those decisions they made.
