Okay well maybe I said that a little too harshly.

But the movie is basically this Final Destination rip-off.

Meanwhile the original media is basically a comment on criminals in society,  sociopaths and psychopaths, god-complexes, how absolute power absolutely corrupts, trust between the government and the police, and many other things.

The movie basically has watered it down into well... some horrid amalgamation of nothing.

If you like the movie, then you either really gonna like the anime,or really gonna f*ucking hate it.

The Netflix remake is trash period.

They make L seems like a maniac. The original L always calm and collective. That's the worst part. Not because he's black.

I hate the movie the core.

This, they made Misa controlling when in the anime she was a blind follower, like UGH why

And all you coming for the OP without having watched the anime, y'all have no right to speak because the movie practically mocked everything the anime got across

While I feel the same I'd never thought I'd call a character blackwashed, but L is literally the whitest character ever. He is from England. He as created with being English in mind.

But yeah, how they messed with character's personalities is just the most awful thing ever.

I know why, but I don't like it.

Misa's characterin the anime/manga is very childlike, which isn't very appealing in America. Though honestly, it was one of the aspects of her personality that gave her the most depth. This psychoath/sociopath aspects of her contrasting with her childlike nature.

Ugh. I'm angry thinking about it.

I couldn’t even finish it lmao it was one of the worst things I’ve ever seen :diane:

I couldn't finish it also :ladyhaha: Even if you haven't seen the anime (I myself didn't, but would like to), and you are a movie buff, you would notice the movie has pretty awful flaws, pretty much in storytelling, on dialogue and, MAINLY, on acting. Damn, all the actors didn't convince me, especially the main character :toofunny: They should've cast another actor...

the English here :laughga: How do you read anime?

OT: Yes. It was horrible. Maybe not on an outside view, but if you watched the anime, you'll see how bad it is.

Death Note, sweetie, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry that an ugly ass bitch like this would even do that, omg.

this is the state of grace, this is the worthwhile fight

bloody g

It's not just a western production of an eastern movie, it's a complete destruction of the original concept.

Also it was the cringiest thing ever :excuseu:

My gf and I were soo looking forward to this movie, we knew what day it was coming out on and everything. Death Note has always been one of my favorite stories ever since the plot is amazing and the suspense stays intense throughout the whole series. Anyways the movie was the biggest disappointment of my life. I understand why some people are okay with seeing it as separate or whatever but the fact is Netflix saw that Death Note was hugely popular and just wanted a quick buck and honestly did the source material no justice, and unfortunately got rid of everything that made the original anime so interesting. :fthis:

Oriane

How could you even do such a masterpiece in two hours ? The original plot is so complex that you just can't put it into a single movie. The manga was good, the anime too because they sticked to the story and added some interesting things (the colors, the animation, the music, everything that couldn't be done on the paper version, they did it very well).

This movie screams "dud" anyway :toofunny:
