No Tour DVD / broadcast planned?

I highly doubt a DVD would happen, the most we would get is a livestream I think. But even then, I don’t think that’s happening.:neyde:

I really would love for her to have another Netflix Special or HBO show. JWT seems way too good to pass up! I am optimistic about it though as she has already worked with Netflix recently so there is already a relationship established.

Make it happen Bobby!!

it was cut short, in TMB dvd she talks about wanting to do another HBO special if they would let her and in 5F2 she says the last time she had a camera in her face "like this" was during the BTWB

if the hip never happened, the DVD would have happened

I really think that the problem wasn't actually the hip itself; I mean, I think that given the fact that she had a date at MSG in the SAME day of the date at the MSG of the MBT, I really think that they were gonna do a HBO special.

So, they had that contract with HBO that clearly had the exclusive to stream it and than to release it on dvd, or well at least they had all the rights of the footage.

Thereby Gaga's team couldn't actually release anything by themeself, without HBO permission, or, well, without HBO trasmitting it.

But, since gaga broke her hip, HBO never had the chance of shooting their special, and I really think that they didn't accept to air one of the many concert footage gaga's team surely did (they are made every tour, multiple times, even if not THAT professionally, they could anyway be released as tour DVDs) maybe because at that point there was a lot of backlash around the BTWBall due to the cancellation, and Gaga herself didn't want to spread the word that much, or more than it already did.

When - and IF - the contract ended, a few years later, releasing a DVD wouldn't have brought to Interscope or whatever a lot of money, since the BTWBall was successful but wasn't one of that ICONIC tours the GP still talk about (nowadays there aren't this kind of tours anymore, at least GP-wise; I was thinking at some MJ or Madonna or Kylie tour which the GP might still remember and want to watch).

Plus, I think Gaga didn't want to take us back to that very dark moment of her, we saw her sick on stage... so she and her team decided not to release it, at least officialy.

So don't blame Gaga for this - I know nobody's doing it here but I used to, since I REALLY wanted a DVD!- it's not her fault.

I think that, one day, she could maybe release it if she gets over that dark time of her life. And I think we all know she still isn't over that time, given the fact that she just doesn't perform ARTPOP and she is still a different person from who she used to be - not in a bad sense, don't getme wrong, but we all say she used to be different in many things.

Sorry if this was long, I had this in mond from 2012 but never wanted to make a thread about it. Maybe I should do a thowback one.

I think it's really crucial for her to release a DVD. I don't think it's normal for a pop star with a 10-year career to have only one live DVD

Would love for Lobstereye to take over the creative for the DVD if one is made - I'm sure they could create something really unique in tune with all the other imagery from this era

Just FYI, typically the camearas that are on the venue broadcasting on the screens do record the show (that’s how Gaga uploaded her “What’s up” cover on the artRAVE and how the soundboard and video from the same tour leaked on European dates). However, unless the artist requests them the footage remains property of the arena/camera company that records it. Also in most cases they give a time lapse to the artist to choose wether they want the video or not. If Gaga doesn’t request it there is a risk that all footage is archived or destroyed since it’s illogical for the camera or arena people to keep it.

Now, knowing Gaga she definetly is recording the show. She recorded the BTWB and artRAVE (remember the gypsy video). This woman went through the trouble of putting hidden cameras on the dancers outfits to get footage of what’s it like to dance on the stage. There is without a doubt profesional footage of the JWT. Wether Gaga decides to release it or not, that’s a different story.

I personally believe she will record it or at the very least live-stream it. After all, they did include footage of it at 5FT credits and Natalie’s boyfriend has been following her around with a camera lately.

If she's doing a simple livestream, she can do it on a single date. I doubt we'll get a DVD.

i really don't want a single date livestream, the artRAVE one was a mess and did the tour itself no justice.

in what aspect? the camera quality was poor, the camera angles were all wrong and shaky and the editing was off...

it was a live stream, it's obviously not going to look like the MBT dvd. But it still was good and the essence of the show was there. There are a lot  of ptofessional tour dvds from other artists way worse than the artrave livestream

I would love one, but I’ll be cautiously un-optimistic because I doubt it. There was a camera man following her outside of her car when she was greeting fans in Barcelona, so maybe? But who knows. It could just be for something else.

i've seen quite a few livestreams that were more than up to par with the likes of a HBO special, Yahoo was just messy on the final night of the artRAVE.

Are you talking about the quality of the stream or the show itself? Because I attended it, and it was incredible :firega:
