True, Gaga is a target for certain groups of people online and regardless of her authenticity or intention they will absolutely use her use of John Wayne against her. In the same way as they did with Aura and the burqa, which is also a reason that could never have became a single.

Personally though, I lowkey hate DIC. Like...its okay. Maybe it would work in the sense that its latin infusion works in the current pop landscape but honestly her masturbation innuendo is too clumsy for me lol its no So Happy I Could Die. But also since DIC was produced in part by Beck, it would be interesting to see him come on stage for the performance (which most likely isnt happening anyway so theories).

I like the idea of Beck joining her, especially since most don't know of his involvement. Though, I feel like he might be kind of awkward in a big sexy pop star setting. I'm picturing him freezing while she briefly rubs up on him as he plays the guitar. :toofunny:

Yes, I have a feeling the track and the album wouldn't get a big boost afterwards since female masturbation is too much for the GP watching at home, but I'd prefer it over, say, getting dragged for JW, or her warbling through Angel Down.

Though, despite all this DiC talk, what I'd really love to see is Hey Girl performed with Florence, especially since she's never performed it live before. I feel like it'd be topical too with all these current events going on.

I mean maybe? Idk. Its her most club friendly song on the album I guess. Although actually i've always thought of John Wayne as the quintessential single song on the record even despite its possible controversy. I kind of dont think the controversy would be as prevalent as it might have been back in like 2013 when people were really gunning for her. If she tried to release Gypsy could you imagine? Its a racial slur so people had a field day when the album was released let alone if it were a single. Anyway..I digress. ME TOO. Hey Girl has been completely ignored and im lost as to why. I actually totally forgot about it. Its grammy stage and singly worthy imo.

It doesnt make sense because doesn’t the band play in the back during each song anyway? He only comes up for solos during these songs.
