she had togo there for peace, donate the Israeli money to a Palestinian organization and win both sides.

This is actually clever and really shows her support to Palestinians :lana:

Don’t give her too much credit, she doesn’t care, she thought that it’s bad for her career so she canceled but she forgot that the majority of the GP, especially Christian Americans, are pro-Israel.. + she f-cked it up with the Russian shows so she triggered the lgbt community too... Israel/Palestine conflict is a bit less important now than the gay holocaust in Chechnya.. especially when nobody cares about it..

I mean, she IS getting some backlash nonetheless but I don't think it's that big that her career is going down the drain or even affect her that much, a lot of people don't really care a lot about the whole israeli/palestinian conflict, I'm gonna bite the bullet and admit that 2 years ago I didn't have a clue what the whole thing was even about. It's the same for a lot of people

So can you agree with me that she couldn’t make a social justice decision after 24 hours of reading about a conflict that going on for centuries? This conflict is not good vs bad, it’s more than that and the victims are the citizens..

It’s the timing imo, Jerusalem is in the highlight now, so people are aware of the conflict atm.. this is why the backlash is kinda huge for a musician that is not as popular as the big stars..

I hope for her that it will be forgotten asap, she's a good musician and a good person.. she just tried to do something good at the end..

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

Yet everyone in the media were calling her out for not being blatant about Trump on the Superbowl.

We're not surprised she's being criticized but another thing is saying she deserves backlash. She doesn't, she took a decision sticking up for her beliefs and people are quick to judge her for cancelling a show for her fans or comparing her to everyone else instead of seeing the bigger picture of the reasons why she's doing it.

Her beliefs? This issue doesn't concern her. She's from New Zealand and she's not a muslim.

It is a sensitive subject indeed, I'm still learning about both sides to this day, ultimately I'm on the palestinian side, but yes if I would have been her and had been insecure I would have not booked at all until being firm in my beliefs, or maybe doing what Roger did and move the show to a venue near Palestine and then doing my homework about it, but nonetheless, I do agree with the boycott so I mean there's a lot of he said she said, so I think it's more about putting ourselves in her shoes instead of wondering things as we would.

in the sad realistic side, there is a lot of stuff that palestinians may have to give up in order to make Israel give in to peace, but if things go correctly this could be a good thing for Lorde, it would show that she was against it and was bold when it mattered.

I don't wanna get deep with you here because I'm from Venezuela and let's just say it's pretty curious the way you decided to state that thought, but international awareness matters and we should help each other when in need, ok? thanks.

I'm saying she has NEVER been an advocate for these issues. She has never spoken about it. Gaga went to russia and basically told them to lock her up because she believed in equal rights for all when she could've just cancel the shows. Don't pretend like Lorde did this in the goodness of her heart. She did it because she might've thought it would be bad for her career.

Your situation in Venezuela is COMPLETELY different from this. I do feel bad because it isn't your fault it's the government. Your should read a lot more about that conflict between Palestine and Israel because its more than just a couple years of history  between them. And by how is she helping Palestinians? She still hasn't come out publicly and say she supports them. She did this for her career.

This thing is so blown out of proportion. Artists cancelled shows all the time. Can’t people just get over this?

Lorde will visit Israel in the next few years time anyway, when political tensions are not so heightened like right now.

All these things happened because Trump want to move US Embassy to Jerusalem, followed by Guatemala and soon by many more countries. And it creates domino effects to non politicals stuff that way

It’s bigger than that...

Israel and Palestain are just the tool in the middle east for the fight between the US and Iran, they are funding each side as much as they can to keep the conflict alive.. The Israeli and the Palestinian politicians are extremists but even there you need to understand the politics.. Netanyahu prefer to keep the situation like that so he can remain the prime minister for example.. peace is not good for him politically. Hamas and Fatah are enemies, one believes in armed fight and the other is not, Abbas is kinda dumb and needs to be kicked out asap.. Hamas is just bad for everyone, I’m not even considering them as a peace maker.. they need to be gone..

I don’t believe in boycotting because I don’t want to choose a side, I believe in one way, together, both citizens are suffering, too much death and chaos.. I lost personally someone close to me, and she taught me to speak loud about peace and to never hate..

Just because I said that I've been on this recently doesn't mean I have not read up. I know what the deal is about.

The boycott is a palestinian movement. She helping by supporting the people in need by joining in instead of playing white saviour and pretending she knows better than them about their own situation, specially if she's just getting into the conflict.

I mean, in the end I can agree with this, wars are ****ing stupid and we all should just learn how to live together, I just don't agree with the way Israel proceeded into the land, but it's also pretty irrelevant what happened in the past century just as what happened 2 thousand years ago, we need to be present and find a solution to it.

Then again, I can't speak for the grief of palestinian people, so I don't want to impose what I believe in that way, if that makes sense.

Yes, I always say, forget about the past, who was here first or wharever, both are here NOW, so let’s fix it!
