given the time horizons universe deals with, any more advanced race than us would likely be many thousands or millions of years ahead of us... would they really care to observe us that much?

 

I feel like race interaction is minimal on space given the distances and that most races will be so far apart from eachother in terms of development

Do your research, aliens have been contacting us since the beginning of civilization, the government has been having contact with them (although this may be a bit farfetched) for decades now. Just check the different radio signals we’ve received from outer space.

Thats not proof tho. Theres things that can make us suspicious but we dont really know anything

 

Space itself and nature generates waves. Hydrogen for example has a frequency of 1420mz (i think that was the amount) and some natural phenomenoms amplify those frequencies... thats why scientists can never really know for sure that some signals even stronger ones are actually aliens

 

Also even if we receive alien signals that does not mean our government is contacting them...

 

For one receiving and replying messages by that form takes decades even wih the nearest star systems. Secondly alien messages could of been directed at someone else and we were just along the path and it wasnt meant for us

 

messages from hundreds or thousands of light years away we wouldnt have had time to send back a reply yet, some races may even be gone by now that sent them

 

receiving messages even if they are alien and not natural doesnt prove were in contact
