Grain And Bread Prices Could Rise In North America Due To Rail-Way Shortage

Canada the largest exporter of grains is having a hard time meeting orders due to rail-way constrains

 

Due to Canadas inability to build any new Oil Pipelines due to one environmental protest and challange after the other, Oil Companies instead are forced to ship rising production by rail

 

The problem is shipping so much crude by rail is taking away space from other goods with grain being a direct competitor for railway space

 

Rail Companies will be adding more storage as soon as possible but are having difficulty keeping up and most products will fave higher transportation costs as a result.

I fully said oil production in Canada would still grow regardless and that not building pipelines would only cause problems in trucking and rail space  

 

Also Canadas Oil Sands go deep and are the longest cycled type of oil industry in the world. Projects may take 5-7 years to set up but these Oil fields literally take 50 years to deplete

 

That means even if you stopped all new imvestment in oil sands production wont significantly fall until after 2050 when the 2000s first major projects came online

 

And thats if it stopped its development which it doesnt

Tbh I saw this coming tho because I know theres alternative transportations to pipelines that would be over-whelmed if we didnt build more...

 

Everyone was too busy saying they love the environment and stop anything related to fossil fuels... but u have to look at the bigger picture to really see if its wise

 

Also if u could stop oil from Canada going to the US then what? Import more from over-seas traveling on Coal Powered ships and risking spills on Oceans which is often worse than spills on land?

 

U have to take everything into account. I think Enviornmentalists sometimes get too passionate about stopping projects to really take a step back and take everything into consideration

That being said, back to the bread, hopefully the train companies will add more rail space fast enough to conpensate so bread prices dont have to rise cuz I love bread too!!! 😍

Agree that it's not good news in terms of the fact that it happened in the first place. But you know what? that's not healthy anyway so time to switch our perspective, this is actually good news.

There will be many articles and news about rising prices and meat will be less common and available for the masses over the years. It will create more space and competition for a vegan lifestyle to take in and so prices will be greatly better for an idealistic healthy diet. It won't be a change because humans care for animals (unfortunately), it'd be people taking care of their very own and only body (fortunately).

But anyway, yes, it's not good that this even happened hopefully it doesn't affect other goods.

This could be a temporary thing tho. A shortage of rail space can easily be fixed in time they simply need to wait for more carriages they order to be completed

 

Also most likely any price rises will be in specific areas probably not all of North America

 

I just think carrying Oil by Rail is so inneficient and problematic tho, people against oil should of thought of this 👀

Well.. I am on the environmentalists side in theory. But more on a generational time schedule than an instant one.

With proper government incentive there is no reason why we can't alter our energy usage to include renewables as the main source for transportation. 

Cutting off oil quickly would likely kill millions by starvation and economic ruin.

Well yeah i support green transition

 

but theres a right way to go about it. Protesting everything and standing in front of trucks and trying to block everything aint the way
