It was successful under any standards

-Platinum album

-2x platinum top 10 single

-Grammy nominated

-Sold out tour

this "joanne flopped" narrative only applies on an atrl delulu context

Nobody is saying it was a flop album, it just wasn't exactly a hit album either, and the reason people are underestimating her is cause her videos, single choices and promotion since 2011 has been messy.  It doesn't matter what the numbers are for Joanne or how many sales it's made. What matters is if people will remember what that album had to offer down the road, and frankly nobody will remember PI or Million reasons.

This is your opinion as there’s no way to know this or predict the future, all we have is facts, and the facts show MR is a 2x platinum hit nominated for a Grammy.

I never underestimated Gaga, it's just that in the last years her focus was not really on creating big hits, was more on evolving herself as an artist. If Gaga wants to have big hits in the future she WILL have them, she's STILL a very big name in the music industry.

I think the fact that The Cure aka the song that received no promotions whatsoever, did exceptionally well given its circumstances goes to show that if she releases music that the GP enjoys, she can reign the charts again.

However, I wouldn’t consider charts as a form of good music. She could go back in time and release Bad Romance, have it not even chart, and imo would still be her greatest song.

Agreed until you mentioned Million Reasons because it’s been shown that the GP ate that **** up.
