Well, obviously I would want the proposed USE to have a totally reformed structure and for it to be more representative. It would not be like the USA, but not like the current EU... it would be a new model (and honestly, I am just speculating here, I do not have any concrete plans nor am I Martin Schulz)

I suppose my desire is more of a utopian Europe in which nativism and populism go back to the caves they spawned from. I don't see nationality as something we should hold onto so dearly, and a USE would seem to complement that. But yes, of course it would need to be one in which it is entirely democratic, and in which every citizen is equal. Incredibly difficult to have work in reality, what with the huge schism that is currently facing the continent, but a nice idea nonetheless.

Brexit is making the UK SUPER unpopular to invest in and super unpopular for companies.

Not one of the banks in those sources is moving from the UK to another country - they are taking jobs with them and maintaining a presence in the UK. This is obviously the short-term effects of brexit. Banks are unclear on the position of the UK economy and so have strategised. Yet, the UK economy is still growing contrary to every submission and will continue to attract investment.

Yeah, I don't know why anyone would think he's proposing anything BUT something like this. in the USA, we elect our federal and state officials. It would work like that. I assumed that was the main reason he made the comparison, so it's not as disconnected as the EU.

Funnily enough,this is my sort of Utopian world!!!

I dream of being united as one in a single unit(democratic one mind you! ). Every sub-unit would have their own representatives so every country nowadays would have their own share in politics!!! There will be no president but sort of a council composed out of the chosen individuals aimed to represent certain parts of the world and every year or so the chief position of the council will rotate so everyone will have sort of an equal say.!Trade would become easier,education universally accepted and it would be easier to have scholarships.(i know it is bullshit and it will never happen lol) 

But i know that the USE he is proposing is far from what i dream of!!!

It's not solely about elections. We also elect members of European Parliament. The influence they have (or lack thereof) is what creates the democratic deficit.

The only country that could come close to superpower status would be Germany, but even Germany is not a superpower. And the German-French relationship makes both country seem extremely powerful.

USA, China, Russia, EU. Those are superpowers. Not a small country with 50 million inhabitants. The UK will just continue to decline in the future.

I mean....okay, yeah, the USA is a whole debate about State's rights vs federal rights too. We basically just focus on federal politics more since there's more power there. It's not really a big deal. It can work okay. lol.

The UK population is actually 66 million and yet, still manages to do better than states with hundreds of millions so what exactly is your point?

Also, I'm not sure where the 'continue to decline' fantasy is coming from. First of all, the UK has not declined in any way so how would it be able to continue to do something that it hasn't done? Secondly, the UK is still growing. Granted it's at a slow rate, but it is still growing nevertheless.
