During NAFTA talks Trump said last year the USA ran a trade deficit with Canada of “ something like $17”

 

In fact USA ran a goods trade surplus with Canada exclusing energy... But even if you include energy which the US needs and cant produce its own...

 

Even including energy, when factoring all trade including services the US actually ran a trade surplus with Canada of $12 Billion and the $17 Billion deficit figure Trump gave was completely made up

 

Canada relies on the US for most of its fruits and vegetables, pre-packaged food, industrial supplies, machinery, car parts as well as service trade such as in media and most large retail chains are American owned.

I mean the article to me i think kind of implied it was even among government not just people or experts who called it out

 

PS: Im pissed hes unfairly making Canada seem like some bad guy draining America of jobs...

 

All our major stuff is imported from America excluding cheap stuff which is all from China... Canada supports more of USA exports than anyone else...

 

As for what we sell... most of our exports to USA are resources like Oil, Gas and Metals which doesnt steal US jobs cause America cant produce enough for itself anyway and would have to buy from elsewhere if not from us anyway

But seriously, this man is being trash. The supporters claim that he's a good business man and can fix the American economy. But if he's making up numbers that could have easily been looked up, what is there to be hopeful of?

Running his own personal business where he only has to worry about his deals and transactions (plus got help from other administrators) is one thing. Running a Nation is another

 

Its not just Canada... Mexico, China and some other Nations are complaining Trump is making deals impossible to be made due to him being unreasonable, unrealistic and impracticle. 

 

One of Canadas trade ambassadors the other day said another frustration slowing down talks is the need to correct Trump and his administration on facts that under normal Negotiations both parties are well informed on

 

Being hard headed doesnt make you a good negotiator if it makes it impossible to get any deals done. A good negotiator also knows when to compromise. Trump doesnt know how to do that
