I love picturing that behind her perfect life, looks, friends and career - at the core of it she’s a lesbian popstar too afraid of coming out, which i think adds a human dimension & vulnerability to her persona

Definitely not solid evidence and I always thought it was about Joe without question but some of this stuff makes it a bit more uncertain.

I mean, ever since I read that Rolling Stone interview she gave just before 1989 was released, I was seriously creeped out by the level of friendship she had with her, at the time, burgeoning squad. They had personalised dressing gowns which Taylor said they wore on sleepover nights and they'd "walk about in them like frontier women" and Taylor gave a tour of her house and showed the interviewer to Karlie's room, which was covered in photos of Karlie and had a basket of all her favourite things beside her bed. Designated dressing gowns? Designated bedrooms? Photos adorning the walls? Tailored gift basket beside the bed? If this was a hotel, it wouldn't be creepy but from a friend, no matter how rich they are, this is pretty bizarre. If this was a bunch of guys doing this, we wouldn't think twice of accusing it of all sorts. If she really is lesbian or bi, that's fine, but if that's the case, she really needs to come out because it's going to drive her crazy keeping it secret and is resulting in raised eyebrows when she talks about how deep her female friendships go on girls nights in. It could all be nothing more than child-like naivety on her part but that's not how the rest of the world will see it.

If there's anything that holds any weight, it's that I think it's odd to use the word "gorgeous" to refer to a man. I personally use words like "hot," "handsome," and maybe "cute" at a push. But "gorgeous" is a very feminine word to my mind and I think some men would perhaps find the word a bit emasculating. So...maybe it was in reference to a girl? That's the only bit that you might have a point. And if Taylor is hiding something, well, maybe she didn't want to alienate her conservative country fanbase all these years and risk losing support? She's seen how plenty of LGBT artists are frozen out of the big leagues as well. It's no wonder so many of them do stay closeted as long as possible, particularly if they're young with a big, young, impressionable fanbase endorsed by parents. It would certainly explain why Taylor's relationships never last long and why rumours have always been so strong that the guy breaks up with her because she won't put out. It would make perfect sense if it was because it was all a cover and she's trying to convince herself that she's straight. But this is all pure speculation.
