I agree 100% But dont try to block Oil Infrastructure before we actually make electric cars easily accessible and affordable and convinient for everyone Focus on taking away the need for it first... also focus on things we have established alternatives for such as reducing Coal with Greener sources Some environmentalists go in with a sledgehammer attitude. They try to block anything and everything with the word fossil in it without thinking the big picture thru and without pondering what will make the most difference etc GGD btw sides with them on articles 95% of the time and when i discuss with them I can tell they barely know all the facts themselves 🤨

Imagine the chaos and what would happen to our economy. North Korea’s economy is like half the size of Ethiopia’s. It’s one of the poorest nations of Earth already. Sanctions haven’t proven to stop them from having a nuclear program. They barely have food, an oil embargo wouldn’t really be effective in stopping their nuclear program (which is already almost finished anyways). Although wasnt the main problem of the keystone pipeline or w/e the name is, that they were doing it on top of Natives' lands? Because thats a different problem. PunkTheFunk 125,703
I've read somewhere that North Korea would "rather eat grass" than give up their nuclear weapons

Problem is almost every pipeline does go thru lands. But even when they workout a deal with landowners environmentalists protest In the case of Keystone, it is more dangerous than many pipelines due to fact that it goes over an aquafer that provides drinking water and irrigation water for millions (though the route was adjusted to minimize exposure) and if a spill happened in that area it could be detremental So i do get concerns on keystone and some other specific pipelines. Some people are just again all of them tho even the safer ones

I don't know if you intended your post to look threatened by environmentalist, but that's the way it comes off. I dont think cutting off investments is realistic yet. We still need more for the moment. Peak Demand is estimated to still be 10-15 years off even with decarbonization efforts due to so many cars being added to roads of developing nations also rising consumption for oil products for non emergy purposes for things like plastics, paints, fertilizers, asphalt etc offsets some of the fall in demand by more efficient cars or EVs that are starting to come in instead focus on research to make alternatives better... look at what will make biggest difference For instance it doesnt help to put more electric cars on the road in many Countries (including many States in US btw) where so much electricity still comes from Coal which is more toxic than crude oil... instead focus on building solar, wind, even natural gas is preferable and once u take care of that then focus on EVs more theres an order of things to do tht makes the shift most effective choosing ramdom things to attack is not gonna get the best results
