Paloma Faith - 'Warrior' (Sia's 'Black & Blue') from her new album

I did post a thread about Paloma's new album last week (which is out now btw huntys). But I know some people (who may not know of Paloma- she's only really known here in the UK) will be interested to know that Paloma bought the incredible 'Warrior' (then known as 'Black and Blue') from Queen Sia. It is pretty much the same as the Sia demo (which always sounded like a finished track anyway- I adore Sia's version!). Their voices are quite alike especially on the verses.

Anyway here is the iconic song

ALSO whilst you're here, listen to this absolute anthem called 'Til I'm Done'. It is seriously a bop and I believe the next single. It'll make you shake your bootyholes

Amazing album. Warrior is an amazing song.  Paloma faith was quite popular in Australia when her last album came out.

Sia's version obviously wins but Paloma already has a song called Black & Blue so they renamed it. I think it was originally written for KP or something. It's interesting how they mimic the demos, Diamonds is the biggest example. Rihanna sings it with Sia like vocals

A queen that we stan forever. She said when she heard the song it reminded her of the refugees, and since in the album she sings from the prospect of each person, in Warrior she’s singing from the prospective of regufees.

It sounds like Sia on a bad day vocally  I wish she would have at least tried to make it her own, with her own singing style. Paloma is talented, she could have done better than a copy/paste.

Paloma is queen! And she's too funny (her live streams make me DIE).

Someone asked her "will you be doing a meet and greet at your tour?"

Paloma: "no"

 

HUNTYS there's like 10 SIGNED copies of The Architect left on her official website, go go go! I got the signed CD and LP (they come together). Apparently it took her 9 hours to sign and she had to do it all over again because they sent her the wrong editions to sign :dead:

She didn't do them all over again, they just gave away both the standard and deluxe editions, generous queen  

Also in her last live stream I told her "If the album doesn't win 28372 Grammys I'm going to riot and sue them" she read it and said  "me too" and then laughed

Yesss I remember that, she answered my question too (it was last night's Live Stream). I said how I loved Stargazer from her first album and she said that Prince said that was his favorite too.

I'm so excited to announce that my new album The Architect is finally out in the world with you. I have now officially given birth to this album for you all to listen to and hopefully enjoy.
