Remember back in late 2016 all the monsters were like "Gaga isn't getting a #1 because she doesn't want to. She's above generic pop music and Spotify is sabotaging her!"

Let's see:

 -The Cure is an extremely commercial and generic track catered for the charts.
-The Cure was near the top of TTH and many playlists for weeks despite it never cracking Top 30 on Spotify.
-The Cure was discounted for weeks.
-The Cure was riding on the Super Bowl & Coachella momentum.

Result: The Cure never outpeaked #39.

Conclusion: Gaga's chance of getting another #1 is almost non-existent. Radio and GP won't check out her new music and Gaga is too stubborn to jump on some trendy collab. Britney is done on the charts too but at least she might feature in some random DJ tracks. "

this conclusion would be true if their reasons actually meant anything

the only promotion it had was coachella (the sb was like 2 months before that), a bad lyric video, social media and discounts

if it had proper single treatment it would have peaked way higher than 39 and everyone knows that
