And Taylor has shown support for the LGBT community, which clearly doesn't match the neo-nazi theory.

so, yeah, it is kind of the same thing.

You can be accepting of sexuality and still be a huge racist. Look at Peter Thiel or Milo Yiannopoulos. I know many such people in real life as well.

Not really. Lady Gaga uses specific words to condemn rapists. If Taylor Swift used specific words to condemn racists this article never would have been written and I highly doubt white supremecisfs would feel empowered by her music...

Next time, be sure to get a good stretch in before you reach that far.

but do you realize that Gaga HAS worked with molesters and rapists, and Taylor HASN'T worked with nazis? So connecting Taylor to this movement is completely ridiculous and based on insane speculation.

She's being connected to the movement because Nazi's specifically are using her music and brand as a form of empowerment. It's not Taylor's fault, but suing over an opinion piece merely calling on her to formally denounce her white supremacist following is a bit much.

Lady Gaga has worked with rapists and has been called out for it accordingly. Since then she's been a vocal supporter of victims rights. Taylor doesn't have to make a statement, but she also doesn't have to sue someone for suggesting she should.

Well it is pretty shitty and borderline libelous to go around accusing people of being Nazis and white supremacists in your blog just because of how you interpret their generic pop lyrics... it IS illegal to publish lies about people, for good reason. Do we all need to tweet "im not a nazi and nazis r bad!" now in order to join the Officially Not a Nazi Club, otherwise blogging strangers are allowed to smear us all they want?

I lowkey agreec with her, this one time. Publishing an article like that was intentionally trying to ruin her image using made up theories, so she could definitely get defamatory suits against them.

OK, but look at this

Johnny Cash's children denounce Charlottesville neo-Nazi wearing Cash t-shirt

"We were sickened by the association," said the note signed by Rosanne, Kathy, Cindy, Tara and John Carter Cash.

"Johnny Cash was a man whose heart beat with the rhythm of love and social justice," read the note, which Rosanne Cash posted on her Facebook page and distributed to more than 99,000 Twitter followers.

"He received humanitarian awards from, among others, the Jewish National Fund, B'nai Brith, and the United Nations. He championed the rights of Native Americans, protested the war in Vietnam, was a voice for the poor, the struggling and the disenfranchised, and an advocate for the rights of prisoners.

"He was on the advisory board of an organisation solely devoted to preventing gun violence among children," it continued. "His pacifism and inclusive patriotism were two of his most defining characteristics. He would be horrified at even a casual use of his name or image for an idea or a cause founded in persecution and hatred.

The article didn't lie though. It's a fact that white supremacists have used Taylor's image and music to further their beliefs. The article did not say Taylor Swift was a white supremacist, or endorsed their views. Rather, they said the use of her image and music by white supremacists to empower their message should be denounced by Swift.

I think we can all agree, if hateful groups used our art or words to further their message of hate and discrimination, most would want to clarify and distance themselves by simply saying "saddened white supremacists use my art, which is inclusive and for all, to further their message of hate."

Again, I don't think Taylor has to do that, but writing an opinion piece saying one think she should do that isn't a crime.
