Hello.

I saw this post and I am deeply offended by this.

Why?

Because Lady Gaga displayed a flag that was handed to her by a fan, and you chose to make a thread about something you bothered to do no research on, pretending that she herself made the flag.

With this message, you neglected to promote online kindness and use the power of the internet.

I love a sweet ole classy read  :whitney:

May I Read You? 😎

By that stretch she should have shown the flag of England in London instead of the union flag all those times.

Gtfo.

I can't stand all of this hyper patriotism around the world.

It's just a language

It's just a country

It's just a flag

Stop trying to divide the world even more. This is definitely not what Gaga intents with her music.

If we're going on that note, what about disenfranchised First Nations peoples?

To Gaga, the Canadian flag is probably a general representation for everybody, for the better or for the worse.

3 points in and ready for more

@Louvre

This has gone too far. This has now gotten to the point where not only are you being disrespectful, you are being prejudice.

Your second update not only is ridiculous because you seem to think that Lady Gaga holding up a Canadian flag makes people think that Canadians all speak English, but you reference once again your insessent to enforce your belief that English speaking countries are the worst.

1.  99% of the population who is going to see and know that Lady Gaga held up a Canadian flag at one of her concerts, are Canadians and the people at that show.

2.  You are being prejudice.

1. You are obviously wrong. There is the thread for which I have provided a link in the 2nd update, and two people confirmed and stated their opinion in the past that Montréal is in their opinion the 5th most important English city of the world. Many factors influence this. If Lady Gaga had shown the Québecois flag, she would have made people aware of Montréal not being ENGLISH.

She would have helped to rebut a stereotype of Montréal. She would have helped to reduce common misunderstandings. But she did not. Instead the impression continues that Montréal is English. And what about our beautiful flag, why could it not have been shown instead? Or the two flags? We have been put in the same category as Vancouver and ottawa and people come to Montréal and when they arrive they wonder why they sometimes hear French on the streets and some complain. :S If Lady Gaga had shown the fleudelisé, we would have been aprreciated for our culture that is distinct and different form the rest of Canada

Lady Gaga wants to be different than let's say will.i.am. or Fergie, so does Québec.

2. I can't confirm these statistics. People come from New England/Maine Vermont/Ontario, too.

A lot of people also come from North New York state. North New York state is closer to Montréal than to New York City. Some people even go to New York and Montréal. There are not all Canadians. But if they only see the Canadian flag, they do not learn much about Québec.

3. I am not being prejudice. It is the ignorant attitude of the Anglo-American world that shows little understanding for the struggles of francophone Montréal residents who have little power to portray themselves to the world. We are being represented to the world how Amercians and Anglo-Canadians want us to be represented, we are not being represented by how we want to be represented.

I'm looking gorgeous tonight

No she wouldn’t have because no one looks at a flag to determine what language the country speaks.

A) It should never be a concern that another culture is being integrated into your area. It's ironic that this is a concern with a flag that has lyrics from "Come to Mama" :toofunny:

2) Gaga didn't make the flag either, she literally just held up a Canadian flag (the country that Montreal is in) with her song lyrics on it. It's not that serious :air:

🌸Flourishing and vibrant🌼
