Show lasted way too long as is, and with series like OITNB and Stranger Things, HoC is irrelevant.

Groux Taste:bon: OITNB peaked with season 2, that show is going on waaay too long. Stranger Things is overhyped.

.... But did anyone ever say it was continuing after Season 6?

Seems like it's just top-tier PR machine doing its best to claim that Netflix "took action" and let the scandal cycle end to give as much time for people to forget/forgive before S6 premiere

There's nothing harder for people to do than admit they were fooled.

Overreaction of an allegation that doesn't seem like a sexual assault in the first place. If it were a repeated situation like that one of HW, then that would make sense.

Clearly we can see that any claims that one committed a sexual assault (Even if it's not true) can ruin someone's reputation. Just look what happened to MJ.

You like that hundreds of cast and crew just lost their jobs over a thirty year old allegation? :toofunny:

I mean, kill Spacey off-screen, write a clever way for him out, jesus.

You'd have to be a pretty messed up person to like the fact that people have lost their jobs. That's not what I'm saying. I'm glad that they took a stand and made a change, even though cancelling the show was a little on the extreme side.

Allegedly this was planned to be the ending no matter what. They probably just released the news now to avoid backlash and calls for the show to end.

Nope, this is RIDICULOUS. Do you guys understand that hundreds of cast and crew are now losing their jobs/residuals/steady income because one guy made a 30-year-old allegation to BUZZFEED?!

Yes, Spacey acted inappropriate if true but he didn't actually DO anything. Spacey needs some kind of therapy, maybe a police report to clear everything -- but the fact that hundreds of people are now gonna be hurt by Rapp's allegation is dumb.

I went to a goth party in Hollywood last week and a drunken older gay man grabbed me HARD and kept pretending to drunkely 'fall' on me -- I shoved him off and moved away. Should I wait 30 years and then ruin his career? Ruin his entire job's workforce? No, he groped me and I got out. Sadly, it happens.

I would never ever ever condone any kind of inappropriate behavior to a minor, but I can't be the only one thinking everyone is overreacting to Rapp's ALLEGATION. Remember, there is literally zero evidence. This isn't how 'justice' should work -- not with others getting hurt in the process.

Are you kidding me? :wtf: gonna go after and doubt the victim immediately??

Way to be complicit with sexual assault and rape culture. Spacey literally fessed up to it on his Instagram like last night first of all. And sexual assault is a major issue in the news right now.

Maybe they could have just cut his character out idk but they wanted to get ahead of this story and they have the right to cancel given he's the main character that story of the show revolves around.

Many people will likely stop watching the show anyway too.

I LITERALLY WANT TO CRY NOW LIKE WTF?!??!!?

If this is really true, then Netflix is a giant mess. Are they really THAT scared of bad publicity? Omg I can't believe they would do such a thing to an ICONIC show like House of Cards :air:

I think Netflix was probably going to call this the final season anyway, but this was a convenient time to announce it for them. The Last season truly felt penultimate with the ending :laughga:

Mess if its because of this though - the show has definitely been pointing towards focusing on Claire more than Frank, so it wouldn't be unrealistic or unfeasible for Frank to end up in Jail/Dead at end of S6... Robin is the real star, so I'm skeptical that just because Spacey couldn't be involved anymore it meant the show was for sure dead.

Sigh, what a mess and overreaction.

But HoC had its peak anyway and has only gotten worse, so I am not too sad.

Sometimes it feels like I've got a war in my mind, I wanna get off but I keep riding the ride

100% false.

1.  Kevin Spacey said he had no memory of that ever occurring and if it did occur, then he apologizes. He did not admit to doing anything.

2. Even police officers have to verify someone’s claims, which is where the “innocent until proven guilty” statement comes from. People lie about these things all the time. All you have to do is Google it. There is a huge movement right now regarding rape and sexual assault, and it’s absolutely ridiculous to think that with all the people coming forward, that there isn’t going to be those who come forward to lie as well. And being objective to a claim does not make one complicit.

Was HoC even renewed for a new season?

Regardless, this is what happens when people are revealed as pedos. Especially when a show centers around that actor.
