Oh, I have another inquiry related to whether or not it would be a “nightmare”!

Would you all be here for Gaga doing an album and then having it be reproduced with different styles of production?...Kind of like what Shania did with Up! (Red version, blue version, etc.)? I know Gaga did a little of this type of experimentation with songs like BTW (Country Road Version), but what about a full album?

I would prefer new material every time. I would like to hear different versions of songs but not like this, in an album.

If it isn't Bad Romance, they hate it. No matter the soul Gaga put into it, the work, it being actually good music, if it isnt #1 for 2000 weeks, sells 9000k copies in 1 week and isn't "pop" music, they will shred it to pieces

While I do not think that commercial performance should impact someone’s opinion on the music, I also think that people who expect everyone to blindly leech onto everything she does is a little nonsensical. She made pop/dance music, and made a radical switch in styles for Joanne, so let’s not pretend people are in the wrong by perhaps not liking it.

Idk how you can say it "has some rock influence somewhere" Its entirely power chords and has a guitar solo. Its probably the most traditional rock song she has done.

Pop Music derives from rock music so all of her albums incorporate a style of rock music :madge:

Although I wouldn’t consider this to be a “nightmare”, but I would really rather her let the art and music speak of the album/era without her adopting a motherly figure by being “mother monster/GOAT” or “goddess of love: online kindness” and all that bullshit where she’s overly vulnerable and comes out pretentious. I get that she’s trying to spread a positive message now that she’s famous and has a voice but I miss seeing her unfiltered personality, the fun, funny, passionate, goofy, shady gaga we see in Gagavisions, she’s only 31 ffs.

I sorta agree. I’ve come to accept it now, and even have been inspired by it, but I do remember there being a period in which her constant “love yourself” theme that was running through all her work was getting a little grating. I think at this point it’s gotten to a level where it’s fine and not distracting at all, and allows the message to actually sink in.

Hearing half the album before the release date.  This has been a problem since BTW.  BTW, AP, and Joanne we have heard half of the album before they were even released.  We got too many leaks, snippets, and performances of non singles.

Changing the second single.  The only exception was Judas to EOG.

Only two or three music videos.

I really hope she is hush hush leading up to the next album.  No listening parties.

Agreed. I felt like that with ARTPOP especially, which sort of dwindled my excitement because I had already hear vast majority of the album.

My biggest fear would be an underwhelming tracklist. I don't hate Joanne, but I could take or leave half the songs. They felt more like Gaga's experiments with a different genre rather than fully realized Gaga tracks (less clever lyrics, more straightforward instrumentals, etc.)

I’ve said this from day one of Joanne. The vast majority of the album sounds like filler demos.

I just want consistency with the next era. Make a plan and stick to it:classy:  I know she isn't concerned with how popular or mainstream her music is but why do they switch singles so much depending on how popular it's going to be :duck:

Agreed. The last time there was a somewhat planned, cohesive era was Born This Way.

I miss her old school hustle and love of visuals. I'll always absolutely adore her but if she doesn't pay attention to the small details and have amazing visuals and concepts, I feel like I'll be less interested next time around

I feel like it’s been so long since this has been the case. She really did have a hustle (inb4 ppl complain that’s how she broke her hip) and it was so strong that others in the industry would comment on it in interviews. No one worked as hard as she did.

Everything was planned. Every single little tiny detail.

God, I even miss when she was drop hints during the tours.

I agree that she shouldn't be controlled, not I think she will be or has ever been (except maybe for ARTPOP?), but she certainly needs a team that knows how to guide her and tell her what's good and what's not.

I’ve said this time and time again. Lady Gaga is an amazing artist but her best eras both visually AND sonically occurred when she had the correct team of people behind her. She has a lot of ideas, and the Haus used to be good at reigning them in and making them pop.

That's it. How do you little monsters guess my album titles? I'm scrapping this one and you better wait for the next album, and you know what, I've had enough of you guessing my titles... private in public and then you did it with Stefani so I had to release Joanne. I'm gonna wear flower skirts next album cycle and you'll deal arrivederci... but it's okay can't wait to perform in 4 days x

One thing that bothered the hell out of me during the Joanne era (even though the album is my absolute favorite) is that the music videos feel cheap. PI, MR and even John Wayne have a "low-budget", low production value kind of vibe and aesthetic that I consider very unpleasant when it comes to a Lady Gaga video.

I know she was deconstructing her persona and being more raw and vulnerable for Joanne, but she could have done that with more exciting music videos. Million Reasons deserved a cinematic masterpiece and got Joanne playing guitar, a crucifix and Gaga pissed off in a car instead.

If her next project delivers disappointing music videos again, I'll be really turned off.

Sis I thought the same. The Million Reasons video looked like a damn ad for a jewelry company :selena:

A boring one. But we know she's capable of doing unbelievable music videos so maybe that's just the aesthetic for this album

True. However, if they had stuck to the plan, A-YO would’ve been the second single, and that could have been a disaster. Same with Venus for ARTPOP

If they had a plan PI was not the lead single for Joanne.

I understand what you’re saying. Sometimes, it’s best to have an “editor” (if you will), as one’s personal ideas of what’s good don’t always translate well to the general public.

I've often see people react negatively to when people say "she can do it all on her own", as if saying that the Haus and all the talented people that she has worked with had no impact on the product which was given to us.

There is no doubt that Gaga is insanely talented. But she is also surrounded by extremely talented people, and The Fame through Born This Way, was one giant TEAM EFFORT.
