Can we talk about Jo Calderone

I decided to take a trip down memory lane and

Jo Calderone is the most underrated thing in Gaga's career, IMO.

First of all, Gaga was completely immersed in her character, proving her worth as an actor first and foremost.

Even to Tony hunties:

I just don't know any artist who has put such dedication and creativity into a physically existent character since David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust (and trust me hunties I know all about David Bowie ).

I don't know if we will ever see another creation like this by any artist, and perhaps we may not even see Gaga do something like that again (unless Joanne is considered an alter-ego ), but at least we will always be able to look back on this flawless piece of performance art.

It was a fantastic way to give the public some background about her as a person and artist. The line about wearing her heels in the shower was genius. I love that she poked fun at herself while still defending herself. Like, I'm not a character, this is just who I am.

Yessssss! I think we didnt appreciated it enough back in 2011. Gaga is really on another level. I dont think she will create other characters like Jo again though.

I think Jo Calderone is one of the most cringiest thing she's done. 

I like the idea but the execution was poor. Jo Calderone isn't even a likeable character. He comes across as a greasy slime ball and makes my skin crawl. I don't know why Gaga would portray that person. He doesn't have any redeemable qualities.

He's lowkey based off Lüc, but he's generally supposed to represent her vices in men- how she keeps going back to these sh*tty guys, and how it is both a part of her identity, and how it shaped it.

It was kind of cringe worthy to me as well.

The level of dedication is fantastic though. Unfortunately her peers in the audience weren't feeling it.
