'Meaning Of Life' Is A Shining Moment For Kelly Clarkson

I just have to say wow. I really thoroughly enjoyed listening to Kelly Clarkson's new album Meaning of Life, out today. 

This subtle genre shift for Kelly was a GREAT choice on her part. Gone are the rocker chick vibes. The album oozes a soulfulness, but don't worry pop lovers, this is still very much a pop album, just with soul influence. 

I never really enjoyed listening through a whole Kelly Clarkson album because I felt the pop-rocker chick vibes got tired. But in Meaning of Life, Kelly makes her voice refreshing to listen to. 

There are a plethora of bops and single worthy hits.

There are also beautiful ballads and mid-tempo songs. 

 

 

My order of preference is:

1. Love So Soft - the video makes me love this song so much
2. Heat - a pure BOP (2nd single worthy)
3. Would You Call That Love - an upbeat song with less energy than "Heat", but THAT CHORUS
4. Go High - the last song on the album, very dancey chorus for Kelly with some (justin bieber-esque production)
5. Whole Lotta Woman - a body positive BOP. Move over "All About That Bass" #body revolution
6. Medicine - a pure pop song
7. Meaning of Life
8. Didn’t I
9. Move You
10. Don’t You Pretend
11. I Don’t Think About You
12. Slow Dance
13. Cruel

Listened on repeat yesterday. Your list is almost exactly how I feel. The only two songs I don’t care for are Cruel and I Don’t Think About You but she sounds great on every single song

So excited to listen! I was hyped when she announced she was working on a soul album. Was underwhelmed the first time I heard LSS but love it now and love Move You. Really don't like MOL the song. The long wait and no promo has kinda killed the hype for me but I am definitely excited to listen in full!

This is the first album of hers I've purchased. I've always liked her but haven't felt I needed the album....until now. This feels like a defining moment for her. She's never sounded better, the bops BOP for real and the soul she put on each track is glorious. This absolutely deserves to be a smash hit and I'm enjoying every minute of it.

I absolutely love I Don't Think About You. That's a very difficult singing technique she did there. This morning on the way to work, I cried listening to this song.

Well it’s kelly. So every song is amazing...those are just the ones that didn’t stand out to me. Her vocals are great on every song.
