Absolutely! Moreover, not only are some of the short term results of affirmative action ultimately bad for a company, but it is also much more difficult to fire a person of color if he/she is not fulfilling their duties.

I think the idea behind encouraging diversity in the workplace is great. I just don’t think having an implied quota for diversity hires is the right way to do it.

Comments like this are the reason white people feel discriminated against. You realize you called me, a non-racist, black lives supporting person, an embarrassment for the color of my skin? You generally can if the poll is conducted the correct way. This is pretty much how all statistics are done. You take a smaller sample size of a larger group and usually it is quite accurate but you do need to take the margin of error into account as well. A lot of the time however they are done poorly because things like the way you phrase the question, where you take the poll, if its anonymous, etc can influence the results drasitcally. Or they can be deliberately manipulated to push someones agenda which is done very often too.

There absolutely is discrimination against whites by some people. It doesn't mean it's the same type of discrimination as what blacks face. It also doesn't mean 'America discriminates whites' It says 'there is discrimination against whites IN America.'

Yes, phrasing is important. 

I don’t see anyone questioning the minority poll numbers though.

But it does exist. Your title claims America discriminates against white people. The question asks if white people believe discrimination exists against white people. It's kind of vague. I have personally met quite a few people who hate white people based on no other reason than their race. Is that not discrimination against whites within America? The system as a whole isn't discriminating against whites, but there does exist discrimination against whites within America.

I don’t see the issue with this poll. 45% chose “No” and I’d say this poll is consistent with the attitudes of the country. The people of other races and groups’ results seem accurate to my experience of being an American as well. 

Polls shouldn’t be taken as FACTS. Statistics is a science and it has a margin of error.

Well polls are representations and often accurate. Harvard conducted the poll so I’m inclined to trust its content a bit more. 

It seems like some are upset over the results. This is just how polls work. You don’t have to like it.

The whole thing is misleading. Nowhere was the question asked 'Does America Discriminate against whites?" The question was "Is there discrimination against your race in America?' The questions have extremely different connotations. I think you know that.
