I think Million Reason got her a lot of older fans though.

Paper Gangsta, Again and Again and Brown Eyes say hi these songs are awesome but totally not what was mainstream back then even songs like beautiful dirty rich the fame summerboy were very retro back then in comparison to the britney, rihanna, justin timberlake sounds that were around all the time

Even when c2c was new people were saying that c2c is right up there. I love c2c their voices are beautiful on it but its not gaga's written work so it doesnt interest me nearly as much as her own material. I think as time passes everyones love for gaga has grown so people seem to link their growing love somehow to thinking that all her work gets better year by year but it doesnt always. as gaga says "the difference between madonna and i is that i'm not afraid to make mistakes" and that really is true she makes some and we should embrace her for that instead of denying it and praising her latest material to be her best all the time when it isnt always. I think a lot of the young fans on here have trouble understanding they aren’t betraying Gaga if they don’t like something, and I think that is just a problem with stan culture. A lot of the culture is really annoying, constantly trying to fight with people on forums and twitter just to prove who is better and who isn’t. Who the **** cares? Just listen to the music and if you like it, great, if you don’t, that’s normal. Gaga is going to have more exceptional albums, and she is going to have more low ranking albums. That’s the natural cycle of an artist. It happens with every single one. 6 minutes ago, monketsharona said: That's true, pretty sure Joanne won't be as high in few years, bookmark me ^^ I’m not trying to shade Joanne, I like the album, but a lot of what I see on here is more Stan culture defending than actually having an opinion that isn’t influenced by someone else. If the Fame dropped tomorrow, and Joanne was the first album, vast majority of people’s ipinions would be a lot different
migamiga 12,102
It's not bad at all. It just sounds very dated (most tracks). But from a songwriting perspective, it's a great pop album Also, out all her albums this was not the one that wasn't nominated for AOTY
FfFfFfFF 56,116
It might be her worst, but it doesn't mean it's a bad album. And Paparazzi remains a highlight from her discography.

Yes, and Million Reasons is a fantastic song, and this album was an obvious course correction for her image, and it succeeded which is great...however, frequently I see on this site is people ranking her albums highest according to what helps her sell the most concert tickets. If Joanne flopped, she couldn’t sell out stadiums, and didn’t pull in new fans, would all the people on here still be praising it? again, I’m not shading Joanne. I’ve seen this site do this with each and every single album she’s released.

The best example was when RedOne was announced to be back for LG5, before this most people were 'urgh I don't want him back, he's so dated'. The day they posted that pic together in the studio everyone was like 'Yaaaaaaas !' If RedOne was producing a whole new Lady Gaga album, even if they pretend they wouldn't like it, I'm pretty sure those poeple would be the first people to go to the store for buying the album and playing it over and over again ^^

Luke78619 23,380
How can y'all say it's the worst when literally 90% of you post "I want her to make more bops" or "I want radio pop songs" when that is literally what TF is full of insta: good_lukeing | I have nothing else to promote
Phoebe Buffay 12,525
The Fame WILL NEVER be her worst album. Not when BTW exists.
Ada 1,665
For me that's ARTPOP (although I'm sure it's because she was at her weakest at that time). I love The Fame, the only songs I don't care about are "Starstruck" and maybe "I like it rough"; I like it even more than BTW! PS: Just the album, the era is the worst for me. Every song on The Fame was something different from the radio itself that it would’ve hit as hard as Just Dance or Poker Face IMO. Paper Gangsta and Retro, Dance, Freak are my faves. Religion is a product to sell.
