Well, let me tell you... This is exactly what I love about Madonna and have loved all this years, like most of her fans -- her bitchy, unapologetic, empowering personality. From the start, she was never one who would play nice. Never. And I love it.

This is all "let's be nice to the fans" is just fake...

Gaga's pushed this to the extreme and now fans keep wanting more and more, and she is doesn't give them that, well... The reactions are not good and she simply loses them.

I want my idols to be real, fierce, strong and unashamed to be who they are.

Have you watched 5F2 yet? I don't see Gaga being fake or overly sweet to her fans. She's not even fake actually, period. She's down to earth towards her fans. If she's feeling down, she expresses it. If she's feeling pumped and inspired, it shows in the way she communicates with her fans.

I'm glad you find Madonna's personality empowering. Gaga is empowering in her own way too. Call me old fashioned, I just like manners and respect.

Madonna's fans live for her acting like this. It's rarely, if ever, serious.

Well, that's not something I would live for.  I live for Gaga's true natural personality ... a good, kind, and caring person.  Gaga wasn't acting here, she wasn't forcing anything, she was just being herself.

Who says Madonna isn't these things either? Just because she doesn't make a show of it doesn't mean anything. Her fans are also grown adults, they don't need to be treated like children. After nearly 40 years, I'm sure they understand her humor by now.

What is wrong about being nice and greatful for people who support you and make you who you are ? Isn't it the way it should be ? I'm not here for bitchy, unapologetic personality.

And isn't she grateful to her fans? Have you been to a concert of hers? Do you know much about her at all? She cares very much about her fans and thanks them for everything she has accomplished in her career. Many, many times.

Her bitchy atitude doesn't define who she is, the same way that Gaga's cute friendly attitude doesn't necessarily make her a good person. People are not fixed things.

Her bitchy unapologetic personality is what made Madonna the best selling female artist of all time -- not pandering to what people thought of her, not bowing down to her critics, not compromising her artistic vision to be praised by the general public and mainstream media. That's who she is...

This 100 percent.  I stan for the nice person, who isn't afraid to show her genuine kindness.  Maybe that's the real difference between Gaga and Madonna.  Gaga doesn't need  to put on airs, she can just be herself.

But Madonna is being herself and you're shaming her for it based on clips. Her real fans know she appreciates them, and she shows that appreciation more than anyone outside her fanbase would realize. I was personally invited to a show by her and her manager in 2012 because they saw how supportive I was of her, a friend of mine received a note and flowers from her when she heard his aunt had passed away, she regularly features fanart in her work even though it's pretty awful at times... the list goes on.

I don't find Madonna disrespectful and I'm pretty sure the guys who made the dolls loved that moment. It is her personality... She likes to provoke... To tease people. Since the 1980s.

Above all, Gaga and Madonna are different and it is just silly to compare them in any way. It is possible to love them both.

I've followed Madonna from her beginning, and I appreciate how groundbreaking she was and how she led the way for so many other artists.  But I don't find her rudeness, even if fake, humorous at all.

I agree with you.... well MOSTLY. But Gaga isn't afraid to be herself, to speak her mind, to stand up for herself, and she is always kind. She as hell isnt fake or anything. She isn't bitchy, rude, snotty, or entitled. And you know as much as I am a fan of Madonna, I do her find to be entitled and snotty! Just saying

And you guys really think that Gaga is always always like this? Nice, sweet, caring, kind? Please... That's just naive.

People's personalities are fluid, and many many times, Gaga's kind caring personality is just the persona she is presenting. Let's be real.

I'm not saying that either. Gaga is who she is, and she can be kind and still show strength. But I don't accept that because Madonna is bitchy she is a bad person or whatever. Because that is what the OP was aiming with this thread and that is simply not true.

Hmm that's not what I said sis. Gaga calls her fans "bitches", "mother****ers"...she flips her fans off and tells us to calm down. And she's unapologetic about it! But she acts that way when it’s appropriate to (like at a concert). That’s Gaga’s upbringing coming through. She is “her father’s daughter”….she spreads kindness to others when it needs to be spread. She’s just a mannered person which I appreciate.

Madonna can be bitchy and unapologetic as much as she wants. She just needs to know that if you act that way, you won't get a lot of fans nowadays. When was the last time she had a hit? :bon:

I'm not saying she's not a nice person underneath.  I wish she would show it in public more.  I don't see why one's image needs to include sometimes coldness, rudeness, and even pompousness.  If it's just an image she tries to portray sometimes, I prefer a nice image.  But that's just me.  Maybe her fans like that image.
