McKayla Maroney was on the US Olympic gold medal wining team in 2012 at the age of 16. She also won silver on the Vault. You may remember her unimpressed meme that went viral. Well McKayla just shared that she was molested by Dr. Larry Nassar from the time she was 13. She was even molested the night before she won the gold medal in London at the age of 16. I cried reading this story. He said that he needed to perform "Treatment" on her. One time when she was 15 he gave her a sleeping pill and she woke up in his hotel room getting "Treatment". I'm SO glad she came forward with this so he could be called out once and for all. These vile creatures depend on our shame and silence to be their ticket to freedom. We stay in the shadows and they get to hold head high in the big free world. It's so cool to see this new day where THOSE days are over. Every single person who has lived a life violating others or relishing in another's violations should be shaking in their shoes right now because we ain't scared no more! It's our turn now, mofos! Thank GOD for this young lady and for everyone else sharing their truth lately. #MeToo EDIT: My monster was a children's church leader. Very long story short, many years later I learned he was working as a youth leader in a all boys Christian boot camp situation. That didn't work for me so I made calls and ended up in a very awkward meeting in a room with him, police officers, officials, etc. He was fired thankfully. There's no time for silence.
