I think it’s Harvey in the lyrics but I don’t get what’s the problem. I mean it’s not like she knew he was a rapist back then :gum:

I knew she was saying Harvey. I thought that right from the beginning, I didn't care what the official lyrics booklet said or what any lyrics videos said. She was clearly saying a name and it was easily deciphered as being Harvey, but I had no idea that he actually insisted that all official outlets claimed the lyric was something else as he didn't want tongues wagging. Makes so much sense now. I wouldn't have connected it with him but a lot of others sure would. There's already been rumours about Lana's previous flings with big, influential names before, so he couldn't risk this happening to him. At least she shook off the old codger's advances...but the fact she was dating Barrie at the time was obviously the biggest reason why she said no. If she was single...I don't know. I love her, but Lana, what with all her relationships with older men and brief flings with rockers, has some odd ideas about love and in her own song lyrics, "I'm going deeper and deeper, harder and harder, darker and darker, looking for love, in all the wrong places." I just want her to find a solid man who makes her happy.

It really makes me wonder the significance to all her work all the more now. Ultraviolence obviously says she was with a guy who hit her. Yayo could've just been a metaphor for her addiction to a man but she was apparently once on drugs, so who knows? Some people even question if she was hinting at an affair with Jay Z on Sad Girl when she sang the line that she was "his Bonnie on the side," a seeming reference to Jay and Beyonce's collab, '03 Bonnie and Clyde. The lyrics to Cruel World still freak me out a bit. It basically says point blank that she once dated a heroin addict/dealer. I really hope she wasn't on that stuff herself. I know all her stuff wasn't completely autobiographical as Lana Del Rey is still a character at the end of the day, but she has said most of her work comes from real experiences and her new album is clearly her most autobiographical to date, so, it makes me wonder.

I've got the Song Book (for piano/vocal/guitar) and it's printed as "Harvey". so... I don't understand the confusion or where they're getting this.
