I agree with their industry analysis with the exception that I don't see this as any sort of new trend. It's been like this for ages, it has just increased exponentially along with technology. That's it.

 

in regards to Gaga. Yeah, she isn't as "relevant" in certain senses but it's because she's established herself. She's that artist that you may not always know their ****, but you know *them*. I mean, she already became the most successful she could ever be so where else was she going to go? You seriously don't become much bigger. Yeah you can say Beyoncé or Taylor have had bigger peaks but not on the global scale Gaga did. Her career height is not something most people achieve and the fact that she was selling out arenas in every market 3 years into her career is insane.

So, no, she may be "overshadowed" but only because anything she does now is painted in light of that past success so nothing will measure up. The fact that her Superbowl show broke viewing records, though, is a testament to her global and cultural relevance on the whole, though.
