Shots were fired on the street by the church where we used to meet. She once described Electric Chapel as a "safe haven" and a place to be yourself and feel at ease. Angel Down is a song about society turning into chaos and feeling lost in a world that used to be safe. Could this be a consious reference, or is it just a coincidental similarity in symbolism? Yeah but Joanne is far far away from her previous albums. If LG5 was a pop album similar to those she made before, it could have made more sense, but Joanne is so so so apart from everything she's ever done. I don't think she was thinking of her past records making Joanne. Yet, Angel Down was originally made by RedOne, so who knows. It wasn't love, it was a Perfect Illusion However, in the context of the songs you mentioned...the meaning isn't the same. EC is about Lüc and Angel Down is about the black kid that got shot, soo....
